I found these on another site :)

Don't know about anyone else, but I love reading old papers, the writing style and English is just a joy to behold. <splendid>

"A party of Glasgow youths passing along Meadowside imagined that had been jostled intentionally by several young men, and became very bellicose. One of them, who declared himself "Sandy Miller, who knows where to hit them," fell foul of a Dundonian, and the two came to blows. A crowd gathered swiftly, and as some of the western group seemed about to assist their comrade a very ugle situation arose, The arrival of four constables and their prompt action averted serious trouble." <laugh>

When I moved into my house I found an old sun in the loft from about 1983! Had some pish about Lester piggot on the front and a wee story in the back about Super Ally (or Sally for short I think the cool kids call him) being on form and expected to be named in the Scotland under 21's later in the week!

Is it possible the Dundonian whom the bold Sandy fell foul of was Duncan Ferguson's Granda?

I read through them there are some brilliant bits in them. My favourite one has to be in the second article, "There was an abundance of the flag-waving which has a tendency to frighten horses." :D These were the days eh? Aberdeen had a thousand season ticket holders back then. If only they could get a crowd like that nowadays.

I found these old programmes in the last week from the 70's. I don't know if anyone remembers when there used to be this competition where they took a photo of the enthusiasts. They circled some lucky individual and you won a fiver or something or was it a tenner? I remember this guy winning it that went to school with me and he was flushed with the sweets of victory.

Right I'm away to indulge not wisely, but too well.

You don't even get a paper programme now Moses, they give you a usb stick for your tablet or upload it through an app to your phone as you go thru the turnstyle.

Don't talk to me about tablets Dev. Mine is still ****ed. I got really pissed off and smashed it up hillwalking on Mount Sinai. Any technically minded younger users of the site know anything about repairing a tablet?

I don't think the words Tablet and Repair go hand in hand.

I'm currently updating them. When God tells me they're finished I'll publish them here first. Obviously this will be an exclusive for the site.
