Not sure if Marlon King has been mentioned on these boards. Being considered for released from Birmingham and known to CH. I believe he would be free as Birmingham want to offload their higher earners. Could be an option if we loose both ~Graham and Hooper and anybody else. Might be too old or not considered good enough for Prem. Seems to have a good scoring record in Championship.
I'm really not a fan of Marlon King, and he's really not the direction I hope the club are taking. But if Graham, Hooper, and the mythical foreign players we're interested in, all fall through, then perhaps a short term deal until the end of the season like Camp might offer a bit of competition. Not keen on it though.
I think we try not to get carried away on the Hooper/Graham thing and instead keep tabs on Curtis Davies at the moment. Hughton must rate him and knows him well already plus we could really do with a "second Bassong" type figure. It would be a travesty to see him go to Reading for £1.5mill without at least bidding for him ourselves.
Also, just picked up on the rumour that Spurs could be after Heung-Kim Son from Hamburg for £10m. Hope they are keen to do business and loose interest in Hooper. Sorry if this news has been posted already but don't fancy trawling through 52 pages to find out!
Daily Fail reporting we have offered £5.5M and Morison in fresh offer but it's been turned down. I find this hard to believe as McNasty has already said no senior players will be sold. £7m for Hooper, however it is made up, is surely enough? Morison could do well in SPL where he will get more time and space to operate.Can't see Hooper coming to CR. Seems to have gone quiet on Graham front. Suspect CH et al are looking elsewhere now.
Lennon says our "improved" Hooper offer has been rejected, no specifics mentioned. SAF and AVB watching Celtic tonight. SAF rumoured to be interested in Wanyama, AVB for Hooper.
Just listened to Lennon on local radio there. Apparently no bid from Spurs at all, but improved bid for Hooper rejected. As much as I think Hooper would do a great job for you guys, the rumour around here is he's hanging on for a club he considers bigger, and doesn't want to go until after the Juventus games anyway. If he doesn't leave in this window I reckon he would be available for closer to the original £5million bid in the summer as well.
If we genuinely didn't come close to 6m, and Lennon isn't an idiot, it sounds like we offered sub-5.5m, and 6m is the selling price.
