Not a question that should be asked, because I'll tell you what the WUMS will say (so will get in first) - The Championship Trophy (again, after relegation). We haven't been a good cup side for a decade now, and I'm not sure that this is going to change any time soon.
Thanks to the resident QPR wum on our board I was not even going to be that generous. League 1 title, maybe in 3 or 4 years time, that will be 1st or 2nd attempt following 2 relegations
Why start a thread like this just more ammo for the rest to slaughter us with its not welcome and not needed.
Oh joy, our resident wum has arrived. I was being somewhat generous in even suggesting you will win something within 4 years! Lets look at your history then League Record Championship 2010ââ¬â11 Division Two Champions 1982ââ¬â83 Division Three Champions 1966ââ¬â67 Division Three (South) Champions 1947ââ¬â48, Division Three South (North Region) Champions 1945ââ¬â46 Southern League Champions 1907ââ¬â08, 1911ââ¬â12 Western League Champions 1905ââ¬â06 Cup Record League Cup Winners 1966ââ¬â67 West London Observer Cup Winners 1892ââ¬â93, 1893ââ¬â94 London Cup Winners 1895 Southern Charity Cup Winners 1913 and based on the law of averages your next trophy could be in about 11 years and it is likely to be a minor one at that. In all honesty I am surprised and even a little shocked that having just won your first trophy for 28 years you can even think about when the next one might be. Try to not forget, you are not Man Utd
It's not that bad is it? On the the eve of the cup final for thoughts to be turning to a day out at Wembley for the fans this time!
Thanks Willy. I atleast try to make my posts either informative, constructive and/or reasoned, something andrew could try to do occassionally. Sadly it is not the case when he visits our board, and from I have seen he doesn't have much to say here either
I'd say the Pepsi League Cup in about 2035 personally, after getting out of the first round for the first time in about 400 years
Why are you bothered about QPR's history Maybe you should look at your own And I dont really care about our history, I care about our future So fly away back to the Naawich board
I base my answers on facts where possible - is called being informative. In general terms I could not care less about your history but I need to look it up to answer the question. I will fly away back to the Norwich board if you promise to never visit our board ever again.
Its not a WUM answer to say the Championship trophy again because that WOULD be most likely. However, if all goes well and this is the start of a special era for the Super Hoops then its not unthinkable that in a few seasons we could win the Carling Cup. Brum are only back up a couple of years and they just did it and we did win it once before. So I would say the Ch'ship trophy followed by the Carling Cup.
Steady on lads! I was struck by the replies to BrentwoodR's thread "Hopes for 2011/2021" and that got me thinking and prompted me to start this thread. In that thread, hardly anyone dared to imagine that our season would amount to anything more merely scraping to avoid relegation. Yes I know it is 15 years since we were in the premiership, and about the dismal years in league 1, and near admin and all the other painful things that were visited upon us in that time. The simple fact is that we are Premier league now,we have a great manager,we have interested and generous owners who I believe will be prepared to invest wisely to strengthen the squad and ensure we may be capable of achieving more than survival. As for the point about giving ammo to WUM's,I don't happen to believe that we should allow them to dictate what we can or cannot say or tailor what we want to state or debate to avoid their input. Otherwise what point is there in having an independent QPR board? COYR's
I wasn't referring to anyone in particular, twins - however some of the people here seem to have immediately forgotten the last fifteen years and are acting like chelsea supporters....
I don't get the wum thing. A bit of banter, so what? Either entertain it or ignore it, certainly don't hold back with threads upon which they may appear. We're all big boys now, aren't we?
If and when we get our balances right, stabilise the ship and grow a competitive squad, inshallah the owners will be up for it and the sky's the limit. I've seen us get a real sniff of all the big stuff before. Only problem was, runners-up in Division 1 didn't qualify you for the European Cup back then. Nowt wrong with dreaming: it's what being a football fan is all about at the best of times. Any Rangers or Norwich fans who ain't seriously dreaming of the next bit of silverware right now has missed the point somewhere along the line. If you want to mock each other in the process be my guest - but I'm sitting back for the summer with my feet up, drooling over the prospect of a cup victory and a top 6 placing! Ah, that's nice! Anyone care to join me?
Great post Brixton, if I could rep you again I would. And I can't see anything wrong with the article.
