we need a striker if we are going to stay up! I know JW has said its hard to bring someone into a bottom of league 2 club! but there must be some young talent not getting first team football.. And yes i dont want JW to just get a player in for the sake of it, if that player does fit into JW's plans.. ( we have seen enough of these Journey men! ) I just hope JW does not miss out or leaves it to late!! Also it was interesting to see the interview with J Cureton regarding his possible move back to rovers before the start of the season.. but it all fell apart due to MM chasing Constable How we could do with his 16 goals right now!!
Talk on the Forum of us SIGNING 19yr old Ryan Brunt from Stoke. On loan to Orient, started at City youth. Seems like a bit of a punt...have to trust Ward.
just looked up Brunt! Not what i expected.. has only played a few games for the reserve team and the rest to non league sides! Also not many goals scored even at Non league level..
brunt, 6ft 1in - the 'big' striker we are needing as we have no height he has been on loan from stoke to 3 different clubs so has 1st team experience ...... non league luton - played 5 - scored - ZERO league 1 tranmere - played 15 - scored - ONE league 1 orient - played 18 - scored - THREE PLAYED 38 GAMES AND SCORED JUST 4 GOALS. im all for giving players a chance and if he joins us then i will get behind him. but i was excited to see a big guy who has actualll played some games but my goodness, his scoring record is very poor. sure this is not the experienced striker JW been talking about. surely this isnt the player that JW mentions here... “A striker is still a priority to add strength to the group. The two young boys did really well at Fleetwood, but to expect another 19 games of that calibre from two very young players is not realistic. They need the support and a bit of help in that department.” http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/ward-on-weather-613369.aspx?pageView=full#anchored a 19 year old striker who scores 1 in every 9 and a half games cant be the player that JW is describing. if he is then like i said i will support him and trust in JW but i hope the rumours etc about this deal is just that - rumours.
Assume Tom will go if we sign another striker on loan?maybe not? As for Brunt noway is he the striker solution just the forum clutching at straws, as we near the transfer window close players and clubs will be looking to find a home for players and we should be in a better position to pick up a potential gem. Well we live in hope dreamland whatever View attachment 20866 COR
According to club site Brunt signed on two and a half year deal. http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/brunt-signs-615122.aspx
Blimey - I though we were getting him on loan! Welcome young Ryan - let's hope you start pinging them in and help us to climb up and away from trouble
Yes...what I'm pleased about is that we've signed someone rather than got them on loan. It's always a gamble, especially on a young 'un, but it's a sign that Ward is building a team; perhaps he (Ward) will be here next season!
What! A manager for more than a season?! What is the world coming to!? I thought we attached a bomb on a timer to our managers that explodes if they get to 12 months....
