Yeah agree, but we did manage to make GH a better all round player, why not Stokes.

Stereo Typist I thought it was £2.4 m but what is £200k between friends.

No player, no matter how good they think they are should be kept at Celtic against
their will. If a player doesn't want to accept the best that Celtic can offer, fine,
it is up to Celtic to decide when for him to go and how to get the best price.

Hopefully so but if it is true then Hooper needs to be told in no uncertain terms that he will go for the price Celtic want, and not for the price Hooper or Norwich think is right.

Apparently Scunny are due 20% of any sell on fee, so if he goes for £7m (as has been quoted) we get around £5.6m back from an initial outlay of £2.2m or thereabouts. 3 and a half million is not to be sniffed at but if we are going to be a selling club in the style of Ajax then we want to be doing better deals than that surely?

It's hard to know what's a good price for him. If Rhodes went to Blackburn for £8m we should be looking at that as a minimum.

As for hooper if true I'm disappointed. I appreciate that he will get paid a few quid more and if he proves himself at an EPL club could in turn move onto a good EPL side in time, but he stands s chance to play in the cl last 26 and win 1 or 2 more medals ( which he won't do at Norwich). So can't see why he won't wait 4 months to the summer. I also believe he stands a better chance of an England call up being seen in the cl than playing for Norwich.

I do find it hard to believe any deal we offer him will be less than anyone else at the club mind

Is it really 20% or 20% up to a certain value?

I don't think we can really look at Rhodes or his ilk for any indication of "value" as there is a premium on players plying their trade in England. I understand we will look for comparisons but I think that we are in a unique position and like you say, that makes it hard to know what a good price for him is.

A good price for Hooper is simple to work out. Like any commodity an item is worth
the top price anyone is prepared to pay. As no two footballers are identical, no matter
What price the selling club puts on a player, it will have little value on the price ,
realised, of course if two or more clubs are interested, maybe price can be inflated.
At the end of the day buyer is trumps.

Thing is, I'd happily take Holt any other time. But swap him for Hooper and a bit of cash. No thanks.

Get the correct amount for Hooper, no some compromise.

Repeat, repeat, repeat, same old story just different names. The BBC are full of
repeats in their January programmes and also in attempts to unsettle Celtic
players and fans. Talk sports SSN and the Scottish media are renown for
doing the same. Celtic should make them all make a statement at the start
of the window to the effect that all references to bids for Celtic players are
merely hopefully thinking on the media's behalf.

You're not the only ones, that knob-head Adrian Durham seems to have some kind of hidden agenda against us. How he qualifys to give an opinion is beyond me <doh>
