I follow a fair few Palace fans and fanzines online who seem pretty close to the club. The deal on the table is £17m and a loan-back.
Just can't see a loan back at that price. In fact, a prize to the person who can find the biggest fee paid for a player who got loaned back. (the prize shall be big or small, but certainly cyber)
It really riles me at how much he's being talked up. Yeah he can run and bring out a trick or two, but there's no end product. His goalscoring record is shocking, and he doesn't even lead Palace's assists table.
Why not? He's not going to get into United's first team straight away. It makes sense for him to go back on loan.
Loan backs aren't common in England though, are they? You want control over what happens to a player if you've paid millions for him.
Just a line on Freddy Adu, he's being let go by Philadelphia Union over financial disagreements and fall-outs with staff members. He "wants to play at the highest level", and coach John Hackworth has said that there are "many teams interested". Wonder if any in England will be looking at him...
Ryan Nelsen's last game is against Man City next Tuesday. That's got to be a blow for them, although I'm sure Arry will rustle up some new centre back for a zillion quid.
Coloccini tells Newcastle United that he will 'never play again' for the club: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...icio-coloccini-deserts-newcastle-8464252.html
