Jamie Allen @ Jamie_Journo SkySports report that Wilfred Zaha deal now "very close" to an agreement. Behind the times! Typical Sky! # Donedeal # MUFC # CPFC
Of course he's an unproven talent! Has he performed well in the Premier league or internationally before? No. Therefore unproven. It's a gamble and I I'm not sure this one will work out.
villa is old .. and passed his best Zaha can play at wings and as striker .. he can give us lots of options .. he is a very talented young guy who only will be better
Manchester Utd News ‏@Mufc_Info Wenger: "If Zaha goes to Man Utd, good luck to him. We were never in for him. Never."
I know Matth, I was being sarcastic... The same way Wenger never sees his players fouling or being offside.
It's a gamble, but so was Ronaldo - he only had a year's Primeira Liga experience when we bought him. Worth a punt imo, particularly if we can use him to replace Nani in the summer and end up with a tidy pile of cash to boot. Not sure about Villa - maybe worth a punt if we can get him for free, but not convinced he could play with Rooney and RVP - Villa and Rooney are too similar in style imo.
Bill Rice ‏@billrice23 #manutd will hold further talks with Crystal Palace towards concluding a deal for Wilfried Zaha #mufc
TRANSFER LATEST BBC Sport's Ben Smith on Manchester United's pursuit of Wilfried Zaha says the two clubs will hold further talks in the next 24 hours as they work towards concluding a deal for England winger. "United are understood to be willing to pay £12m for Zaha and will would then loan him back to the Championship club for the rest of the season," said Smith. "Both clubs have refused to comment on a proposed deal for the 20-year-old. But an agreement could be reached by the end of the week for a player who won his first England cap against Sweden in November."
Wilfried Zaha: Manchester United and Crystal Palace to hold talks Manchester United and Crystal Palace will hold further talks in the next 24 hours as they work towards concluding a deal for England winger Wilfried Zaha. Sir Alex Ferguson has remained behind as his squad travelled to Qatar on Sunday for a short training camp. United are understood to be willing to pay £12m for Zaha and will then loan him back to the Championship club for the rest of the season. Both clubs have refused to comment on a proposed deal for the 20-year-old. Wilfried Zaha Born: 10 November 1992 Position: Winger/striker Club career: Crystal Palace (2009-present) Professional debut: v Cardiff (27 March 2010) Appearances: 124 Goals: 15 England Under-19 caps: 2 England Under-21 caps: 5 England international caps: 1 But an agreement could be reached by the end of the week for a player who won his first England cap against Sweden in November. Zaha, who came through the youth academy at Selhurst Park, has scored 15 goals in 124 appearances for the Eagles since his debut against Cardiff in March 2010. He was named the Football League Young Player of the Year last season and attracted the attention of a host of Premier League clubs. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had said he was "looking at Zaha" but today insisted a bid was never made. "We were never in for Zaha," Wenger said. "I don't know if he will go to Man United. If he goes to Man United, good luck to him." Palace are fourth in the Championship - two points off the automatic promotion places - and losing Zaha could be a blow to their Premier League ambitions. The chances of him being loaned back to Selhurst Park are hampered by the fact that the Ivory Coast-born forward is eligible to play in the Champions League, although he is cup-tied for the FA Cup. Zaha has been with Palace since the age of 12 and is the latest home-grown talent, following in the footsteps of Chelsea's Victor Moses and Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne. Former Eagles striker Mark Bright has described Zaha as the biggest talent to emerge at the club since former England striker Ian Wright. "He is probably the best prospect we [Palace] have had in terms of what he could go on to achieve," said the BBC pundit. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21143029
cool .. great deal .. we need a new winger and being a striker is a big bonus, as he can play in 3 strikers formations that sir Alex use alot
Miguel Delaney ‏@MiguelDelaney Arsenal put in a bid for Zaha over last week, so seems face-saving for Wenger. Unless it's a creative interpretation of "we were never in" Ed Malyon ‏@eaamalyon Biggest clue that Zaha's close to United is Wenger admitting defeat. Went back in for him yesterday I'm told but informed they had no chance Sami Mokbel ‏@SamiMokbel81_DM Wenger says #AFC were not in for Zaha. So I'm guessing Pat Rice and Steve Rowley were regulars at Selhurst Park for the on-site Sainsbury's looks like Wenger was lying.
Rebecca Stephenson ‏@1rebs #Zaha.I believe there's agreement ensuring he'll join #mufc & no-one else, but terms & details need finalising before official announcement She's a freelance journalist and a United fan.
