I wish I was in a position to agree with you or to challenge what you have written but I have never written to the man, spoken to him or met him and in life I never like to go just by what people say about someone as I am a big boy and can make up my own mind based on fact rather than idle gossip and media spite.

I guess if Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov ever gets near Fellaini she would handbag him for giving Spider a black eye with his elbow.

I don't think she knows otherwise she would be on the bus to Liverpool now with a bloody great house brick inside that massive bag of hers.

Why is it that the older women get the bigger their handbags become? I guess it must be they just need more creams and makeup.

Just checked temperature in Barcelona...should be about 10 deg this week...better for training but hardly a sunny break.

ah em... some would say "tries a Jason Dodd". His was obviously better because it was against the blue few.

Just said on Sky: we've got 19 points from last 13 games. Good form. Even discounting probable losses against City and United, we have a good chance of picking up more points against our relegaton rivals. Feeling confident.

It was a good game yesterday, even if a bit early to start reading much into the Pochettino era. Rickie had a couple of chances that he would back himself on, but there's only a handful of players who would get near that header, so I can forgive the occasional miss. Particularly after the Chelsea goal, that was brilliant. Well done fans who captured the mood sensibly, Sky must have been hoping for a season ticket chucked at the manager or something. Anyway, nine days off now and with a bit of luck Man Utd might not have Sir Alex in the dug out when we get back.

Too early to read much into it as you say, but it did at least show that the players can play well without Nigel holding their hands. He worked hard with them and they've improved and are now PL standard. They don't look out of place and neutrals are beginning to say nice things. Even Redknapp said we looked like we'd be safe. What did show was that, if the Poch experiment works, we may like what we see.

Indeed some would FLT, and I thought about JD at the time. But it was a bit of a Le Tiss trademark, that occasionally he'd see the keeper nicely positioned and thought it worth a pop. Did it a few times too, as I remember.

Thought has just struck me that Nigel may have watched Saints last night. If so, I hope he was pleased with his old team. Although they played more up-tempo than usual, I thought each player did him credit.

I wondered if NA would watch last night (unless he's on holiday). It might just be too painful, but I like to think Saints have joined Scunthorpe in his heart.

Good point. Hopefully he does get a touchline ban. He should do. I can't believe they've asked him to explain his comments, it's pretty obvious what he said. Also interesting to note that Man Utd have gone off on a sun training session too. Bit hotter where they've gone though!

The FA are cowards when it comes to Ferguson. They treat him like he's God, let's him get away with whatever he wants.

Asking to "explain" is just the precursor to being charged I think. After the criticism they got last time over Fergie and Mike Dean I don't think they will miss the opportunity this time. They play Fulham on Saturday so he might be back if it's just one game, but these things do seem to take a while at FA Towers so you never know.

Totally agree, & it feels very unfair. Not only does he get away with these comments, but he also bullies officials on match days. I have respect for all he has achieved in the game, but I won't be sad when he's gone.

He's certainly a bully, but then a lot of very successful people are, in all walks of life. I wonder how Sir Alex would get on with our own Mr Cortese?

But the touch line intimidation makes it different. Against Newcastle, he shouted in the forth officials face. The toon didn't get one 50/50 call after that. The weaker Utd get, the worse he becomes.

Well if they don't beat us next week the officials are bound to cop it!

The Fulham game will be interesting. Hopefully its quite a strong team & RvP picks up a couple yellows, yeah right!

It would be interesting to see some stats for cards shown at Old Trafford, over the last few seasons. If they've been evenly distributed across the home and away teams, that might suggest there isn't really a problem with SAF influencing officials. If there is a significantly higher number handed out to the visitors, on the other hand...

There must be someone who's researched this.

I suspect that visitors have to foul the ManU team at Old Trafford, more than they have to foul the visitors. Would be an interesting stat. That's what I liked about Adkins, he didn't waste his time arguing about something that was too late to change. Poch may, but we'll have no idea.
