Reported widely now with comments attributed to his father suggesting that he'd love to go back to the nou camp.

He's had a couple of below average moments recently but he is still a quality keeper that i wouldn't want to leave.

It also begs the question of whether we will lose other players who really would like to play CL football; Gerrard himself eluded to the need for Suarez to play in the CL......

Simple fact is that if we do not qualify for it very soon, e.g. next year latest, we shouldn't expect to enjoy watching such players.....Arsenal lose their best players year in, year out and they consistently HAVE CL football!! Clock is ticking!

if its true he might be off, i am a little surprised not more about Butland coming, obviously we would loan him back, but why if Reina is off is there no rumours for replacement keeper.

surely not going to wait until Summer then find replacement.

I wouldn't blame Reina if he wanted to go. Going back to his home club and fulfilling a dream almost.

Would never citicise him if he does leave for Barca. There is no doubt he loves every aspect of Liverpool and even likes his kids having a scouse accent I've heard him say. He is a top keeper and at Barcelona he could get to Spain number 1 too. Whatever he decides, best of luck to him.

if he wants to go he should be classy about it. do an alonso and earn us 30mil. I don't mind if he does want to go even though he was a great keeper. his standards have slipped through lack of work IMO. I think under rafa he was really working o nhis game and was wolrd class... now i think he's just doing enough. you know.. same as the rest but not going the extra mile.

I think if we sell we should stick for top dollar as it were and get in a good replacement. he is unique in his passing ability but we've seen with jones that an adequete keeper with poor distribution doesn't really kill our game does it?

his choice.. stay great, go ok but go with dignity and give the club its due.

  7. I said the other day that I think Reina needs a fresh challenge to re-ignite his career, he seems a bit stagnant at the minute <ok>

Agree with MITO - our game does not suffer when Jones is in goals.

I think Reina's long ball distribution is the best in the game but we haven't utilised that since Rodgers took over. Jones has looked comfortable when passing to Agger, Skrtel etc but then again, I would expect any keeper to be able to pass the ball a few yards.

The days of raw pace, with Torres up front and Reira on the wing saw the best of Reina's distribution. Used to pick them out all the time.

  10. It frustrates the hell out of me when he its the long ball! We've had Suarez, downing and Sterling up top for majority of the season, none of them are going to win a ball in the air, nor is Suarez (the most advanced player in this situation) going to outpace anyone. I might be different with Sturridge upfront though.

I don't see him leaving us until the Summer. He'll be professional about it (as he has been all the time he's been with), doesn't seem to be the type to abandon a club mid campaign and without a potential replacement lined up.

I'd say we could get alot of money from a potential transfer, but we've seen what Barca are like when it comes to money especially when it comes to former youth players.

If Reina does go the owners better drop there under 24 policy for a replacement. Keepers are different to out field players a peak later.

    Carroll for Krul.

Pepe seems like a decent guy, sure if he decides to go he will do it the right way and it will be for genuine reasons.

Whilst I can't say Jones is in the same league as Reina (even though, as has been pointed out, his form isn't what it was a season or two ago - probably down to our tactical changes and lack of competition in his position) he has been improving well and I don't necessarily feel nervous when he's in goal.

We'll need to bring in a new No.1 though, swap deal of Reina for Valdes maybe on the cards? :emoticon-0138-think He's used to a grounded, passing style.

This is one occasion where young English talent might be beneficial. Would love us to get Butland.

Apparantly Pepe has a big presence in the dressing room and I'd feel we'd miss that more than his actual GK ability ...

i agree on his leadership in the dressing room for sure.

I also agree that we ouight to piss the geordies off and rob thier keeper or even better vorm form swansea just to annoy a couple of swans wums...

I dunno, as long as we make a big fee and he doesn't go to anyone but barca i'd wish him very well and hope he'd join alonso in the stands.

our "next" manager should be sami hyppia, another legend out there managing and we should be looking at hamann and several other really good professional guys who stood out as more professional than the club they sometimes had to endure (moores, parry, hicks, purslow and just perhaps even FSG)

our club has had really great players like reina who've actually earned thier pay and more and frankly if our clubs upper levels had a scrap of real professionalism running the show we've be far better off.

Another shout for future manager could be Carragher - a real student of the game <ok>
