I think he definitely speaks a reasonable amount but doesn't want to fumble around in his interviews and come off a buffoon, which is inevitable when you're still picking up a language. You could clearly see in his interview that he understood the questions he was being asked and a couple of times he went to answer before his interpreter cut him off to translate the question.
Yoshida and Clyne were solid today. Unfortunately so were Baines and Howard and I think that was the difference. Gaston, Lambert and Schneiderlin also had fantastic games. Hard to criticise anyone today, a brilliant team performance and puts us into a good position going to Old Trafford!
To be fair to him he is a very good analyst. He was a complete dickhead as a footballer though, nothing can change that.
Love to know what the gismo was that the interpreter was holding. Poch was saying several sentences and the guy would look down at a screen. presumably it was recording what MP said in print, so that the interpreter could...well interprete.
Ha-ha, yes I saw the man. So 50,000 managerial changes later and we have the biggest crowds in the Premier League..! Replacement stadium, of course. My goodness, is Rickie a PL player..? He is tremendous, and he was tonight, even though he didn't score. There are players who just about catch the real public feel, and Rickie is in that category. The media can hype star players all they like, but there are other players who are really taken to fans hearts, and Rickie is one of those. A thoroughly worthy Saints No.7 in a long line of excellent players to wear the number.
Nope, I just happened to notice it was a tablet computer, presumably with recording software that puts the sounds into words. Then the intepreter can do his job. The only problem was, Pochettino was really pushing the software with his extended answers. Anyone could see/sense the interpreter gulping at the lengthy answers, especially when he did his interview with Adam Blackmore on Radio Solent.
At Post-Match Press Conference: Journalist: Why did Puncheon leave the pitch? Pochettino: Sometimes with a new manager, players get nervous....
Despite my misgivings about the manager, I though we did very well today. Obviously doesn't hide the fact about how Adkins was treated, we're just going to have to get on with it and hate Cortese! Haha Thought we dominated Everton and should have had a couple. Shaw, Hooiveld, Boruc & Lambert in particular having good games Edit: Forgot to mention Morgan - immense.
Our recent games have shown that we are now a consistent team and can grind out results. We need some more wins, but we are harder to beat than the teams below us. I am certain that we will stay up this year and finish about where we are now.
Bloody hell Fran, stop talking such immense sense. This is getting silly now. I can't help but pick your comments out for quotes. Excellent summary, although I think we'll finish slightly higher. I said 10th to 13th, at the beginning of the season and I'll stick by that. Above West Ham, that's for sure.
Well I have arrived back too late to add much and agree with the consensus; a good point with both sides missing good chances to score. Only other observation was the amount of time that ball was in the air from headers around the midline. I haven't seen the like since league one!
