Well done. Keeping Everton from scoring is no mean feat! And it was a good end-to-end game. but nevertheless the highlight of the game was that Puncheon chant and the second chant on the same subject with a slight lyric rewrite about 5 minutes later "He ****s when he want, he ****s when he wants, Jason Puncheon he ****s when he wants"
First half, Saints were good and deserved to win, but second half scrappy, though we still had our moments. It tells me we can compete in this league. Boruc did well...def 1st GK. Shaw his usual calm self. We made chances...any other day Ricky would have scored. Good point in the end...now 4 clear. Good experience for Poch...can see the players he's got and what needs to be done. Perfect time to go off to the sun and sort a few things out. I notice that he was able to give instructions to players one on one without an interpreter...as he said he can talk football. Also glad that fans sang for Nigel but there was no stupid stuff...I think everyone has had time to think and decide we need to support the team and manager and give NC the benefit of the doubt.
Going for a warm-weather training camp in Barcelona, apparently. Pochettino has only been in the UK for a weekend and already he's sick of the cold!
Thought it was Malta, but perhaps change due to new manager...he needs to pick up a toothbrush and a change of pants
Was it them playing poor or Saints playing good?. I would give credit to Saints I thought we were class.
You can only play whats in front of you . From what I havr heard / read WE played very well , That's all I am fussed about .
I feared that our missed chances would come back to haunt us in the 2nd half. They did in a way as we didn't win but I would have taken a point before kick off.
Absolute class. Definitely a contender for MOTM. Single-handedly (and footedly) saved two certain goals. Gutted not to nick three points, but would have taken that at the start - more than anything didn't want this chapter to start with a loss. Think if we'd scored in the first half, the second half may have played out differently, and Everton might have nicked something anyway. Loved how they were all playing out of their skin for the new boss - thought Ramirez was being a little bit selfish at first, trying to go solo a bit too much, but he calmed down eventually. Can't remember that many Saints corners in a game!
