I'd be much happier with Bastos than Coutinho purely based on his versatility involves LB. Don't know much about Lopez
Lopez killed it at Porto, killed it to start with Lyon but then got injured a lot, still quality though. Agree on Bastos, think he is 29 as well.
Have you watched much of Bastos by the way? MONSTER of left peg. Free kicks, strikes from range, whipped balls in, the lot.
Not a lot but caught glimpses. I did say 'based on his verstility including LB', I watch very little of the foreign teams, only really see them in CL or EL
I think the big stumbling block with him ( as Lyon are not in CL anymore) is wages. I think he wants 90 a week or something. He almost moved to Juve about 2 years ago but it all fell apart I think because of that. Juan Vargas and Michel Bastos are very similar and I would take both!!!
lol have you seen Coutinho's wiki page!? anyway Rafa saw enough potential in him to pick him regularly for Inter despite the fact that other managers loaned him out. Bearing in mind Rafa's good work with our youngsters in general, i see that as a good endorsement.
Guillem Balague ‏@GuillemBalague Liverpool and Coutinho are hopeful it will happen. The player is very excited about move! Fee close to be agreed but not yet. Hope it happens
I remember seeing him a couple of times last year or the season before and he looked absoloutely amazing (think someone mentioned the game v Spurs which may be where I remember him from) and really thought he was the next big Brazillian thing but seems to have gone off the boil a bit recenty. Seems like typical young wide Brazillian player - good technical ability, little bit lightweight, but good skill. For £8mil could be a decent signing - wonder if we could ask Rafa for the low down on him.
You could always argue that Sturridge hadn't played much this year for Chelsea before he came, and he' turned out good thus far. Like mentioned above, some times a move is what a player needs, if he wants a fresh start then it might kick start his career. The way we play is perfect for a player like him, so it could be the right deal for both us and Inter.
He certainly seems like he can make something from nothing. This 'lightweight' argument again... Oscar, Hazard and Mata are a decent line up aren't they?
But i still don't why we'd need, not right now. We need a RW, but there is no genuine player available in the market to sign in this window. I'd rather see us go for a Defender this time and sign a midfielder and Winger the summer window. I've been watching some Ajax games lately just to see on Eriksen, but i got hooked onto this player called Viktor Fischer. This kid is going to be massive. In his debut season, he's already scored 5 goals and 3 assists in 10 league games. More than the likes of Ibra and Van Basten did in the debut season. Already played in the CL against Madrid and City, and he's only 18! Best part is that his contract runs out in 2014, and apparently hasn't signed a new one yet. Which leaves potential suitors to grab a bargain. He scored a double against Feyernood( their biggest rivals) the other day, almost got a hatrick. And most of his good play's aren't even on this highlight.
Call me crazy if you want but I think it is a little early to be passing judgement on Sturridge, just look at Joe Allen

Must of read the context of your "just look at Joe Allen" sentence incorrectly. What were you using him as an example of?
How someone can start extremely well and give an initial false impression of a world beater. Joe Allen needs time to settle and development but I'm pretty sure we can all agree he won't be a world beater
