I can't see why people think him scoring in a poor Ipswich side means hell score for fun here. Generally these poor sides in this league tend to have a high scorer, because they tend to stick 9 men behind the ball and all the striker does is sit in the box and wait for the ball to drop at his feet, that's why they get so many because no one else is in a position to score. In a team like ours where we play fluid possession football instead of taking the 40 yard through ball route each time just giving possession away, he will have to work harder and do more, link up with midfield, move the ball into space and keep hold of it while others get forward, come deep to collect a short pass and help create chances for others.
Kevin Phillips scored 38 in 71, between the age of 33 - 35 whilst at QPR. And then there was more - the secret is keeping these guys motivated and fit.
Now that is quality villainy (bullshit, but the predictive gets it closer!) - just hope you don't actually believe it
you had my card with Junior Lewis, but I ll carry on playing with Steve Earle. An American country and western singer could never make a footballer. i ve Damo up my sleave but that is the dealers perogative i think. Having said that it ll end upin row Z if i play it

Point 1. SB won't be trying to sign him because of his past record (although the fact he's always scored goals regularly will be a bonus). He will want him because he sees him as the type of player we need to fit the tactics and formation(s) he wants to deploy. Players do well when they've got a good manager who knows how to get the best out of them and Bruce will probably be looking at DJ as being the right player to form a good attacking partnership with Gedo. Point 2. Why the **** do so many on here bother responding to this Leicester WUM's posts? He has only one agenda and that's to wind people up. He doesn't even believe what he's saying and on this thread he is basically sulking because we seem to have got our target striker, so like a six year old he's desperately trying to find ways to belittle him. If we had got Ronaldo he would be doing the exact same thing - it's called insecurity.
Exactly what I said the other day. This is now going to be £4.5m on three players, two of whom are an improvement on what we had but weren't desperately needed (Meyler and Brady), and one whose arrival at the KC doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. I could see Campbell linking up quite well with Aluko actually, but as he's out for two months I can't see him scoring many until at least March. Also, let's imagine we somehow get promoted this season: Campbell will be 32 in November, and I don't see him scoring too many in the Premier League at that age. We also still need another striker in addition to him, in my opinion. If it was down to me, I'd write this season off in terms of the league. I'd go for a decent performance in the FA Cup instead. I'd spend the next 18 months building a side that could not only win promotion in 2014 but also fight for survival in the top-flight the year after, which I really can't imagine us doing with this squad. In fact, I think we'd be embarrassed every week, as I can imagine Bruce stubbornly sticking with a 3-5-2 formation that has been easily exploited at times this season by some of the worst teams in the league (see: Peterborough and Sheffield Wednesday).
What have we been begging for? How many times have people come on here & said if only we had someone in the box & not all trying to do link up play? The point is though If it's true then we can hope he is that player who stays in the box & doesn't drop deep, there's enough players who do this already.
I'd be more worried about his age if he hadn't been scoring so recently but he certainly still has it.
So who would of played left wing back or left wing if we hadn't of signed Brady? Meyler added much needed height, presence, the odd goal and legs to our midfield
Was you not at the Huddersfield, Leicester and Leeds games Erik, Brady and Meyler have improved the team no end, arm chair fan me thinks.
Obviously. That's why I'm a season-ticket holder, and have been for a decade. I said quite clearly that both Meyler and Brady were an improvement on what we had in their respective positions, but that our biggest problem area was up-front (closely followed by goalkeeper). Also, I'd say we could have found a player as good as Meyler for less than £1.5m
Brady wasn't **** against Leicester, that is just your biased opinion, which you are entitled to but you do keep maintaining Jaku kept us in that game so ill prob take your comments from that game with a pinch of salt ha ha
Do you really think so Erik?? Im not to sure about that one. 1.5mil isn't alot these days. Yes plenty of better midfielders out there but not at 1.5mil
Actually we didn't at that stage. We even sold him when the new owners came in because he wanted that high of a wage. Says quite a bit.
