I know it's not fair on their fans but I hope they get battered tonight

After that Cortese did to Nigel Adkins I hope that Saints now get relegated. Would serve that B'Stard right.

Didn't particularly care whether they stayed up this season or not, and this hasn't changed my thinking.

If Pochotino (sp) does well they'll all forget Adkins and so will the media.

I'm not sure Adkins would have had the profile to attract quality players from abroad or earn their respect.

Harsh decision on NA, but pragmatic one for the club.

Hope they go down after treating Adkins like sh1t! What more could he have done other than 2 straight promotions and out of the bottom 3 in the PL?

Be like Swansea and be comfortably midtable, maybe?

Yeah i'm sure that was high on the Southampton Chairman's agenda when he sacked him.

Adkins has been punching above his weight for years.
    Slimey, cheesey, sCUNT.
He thinks he knows it all and he don't know jack.

    Me too.

    That's why I posted it.

The new chap was an Argentine international defender and respected in a country (Spain) with a more sophisticated and ruthless league than ours.

Now that Alan 'Nil by goals' Knill has been sacked he could go and be Laws' physio again.

Expect another surprise Championship sacking and him being the replacement.

Personally I still hope Southampton stay up. They've got some good, hardworking British players.

He managed a lower midtable Spanish club, not one of the greats.

It's a fantastic feat to take someone from league 1 relegation fodder to 15th in the top flight.

He'd love that, back with his bum chum Laws.

Yes he did extremely well at Southampton but Cortese is running a business- not some kind of sentimental lower league outfit.

This is the fist Southampton game I have watched this season. They look pretty good.

My Grandson and Son in Law are at the game tonight. They don't deserve to see the team go down. This is all planned to make Cortese into a big time name. He wants big time players and some of the existing players are wannabe, but most have been told that they are not up to PL.

Why would Cortese appoint someone who will take the club down?
