Fortunately we're not interested in your opinion. If we wanted a discussion with you we would come on the Leicester board.
Simpson's goal per game record is 0.2 and DJ's is 0.4. For a player that's 7 years older and is on much higher wages I don't think he's much better. Yes, you knew what I meant. I was suggesting would you rather have spent on striker rather than suppliers. For example, we spent a million on Knockaert and another million on Drinkwater. While spending, when we get promotion, 2m on Wood. Wouldn't you have rather gone down the same sort of route?
So DJs record is twice as good as Simpsons. If that doesnt sound to you like a significant difference than this is all a wind up. You are suggesting we would rather have done something? It sounds like from everyone's responses that your suggestion about what we want is not accurate at all.
Yeah twice as good, but it's like going from **** to ****ter. I don't think DJs wage and age are enough to say he's of more value than Simpson. That's why i'm asking.
To be fair up until this season Wood's goal ratio hasn't set the world alight has it, im sure he is going to be a really good seasoned striker but ever since Leicester signed him ive found it strange West Brom only wanted such a small fee for him. We could certainly argue Matty Fryatt's as good.
1 chance 1 goal kind of striker? You don't half come out with some right old pony. Name me one striker who has a 100% conversion rate, even Messi misses from time to time you know. Mind you Chris Woo can't be far off. Sheeeeeet.
Well we will see if he is good enough for the wages. That is a point for sure. We did need someone to go up, and if DJ is the best we could get then that is a risk you may need to take. Also DJ got his goals in a **** side, I think he will fare much better with us than with Ipswich.
Are you for real? He has just been banging goals in for a mediocre Ipswich side and you don't think he is the 20+ a season striker we need Mind you will only believe it when it is announced on the official website.
Don't know about that but as far as I can see three experienced managers rate DJ Campbell: Mad Mick wanted him back at Ipswich, Olly wanted him at Palace and SB is bringing him here. Seems square head is the only manager who doesn't rate him
Chris Woo had a record of 11 in 19 at a Millwall team that was 6th when Leicester bought him. DJ has a record of 10 in 17 in an Ipswich team that's scrapping for their lives.
Which means he will be 34 when his contract runs out. Nick Barmby, Dean Windass, Andy Dawson, Ian Ashbee...all had good contracts in their 30's, so why can't DJ Campbell? Age is just a number if you have ability, don't be fooled by the "wrong side of 30" myth, it's absolute crap.
I'm not convinced by DJ either. I'm not sure there are much better options around though. Time will tell - I hope I'm wrong
Leave him, Geo - as OLM says - he's talking bollocks again. (Don't know why he doesn't go and apply his logic and wisdom to the Lesta board....)
