Thanks, being out of the country I only look at the top teams and managers and all I know about Hibs is that they're in Edinburgh.
Shockingly, it seems Wenger is a hard man to get on with. Never would have guessed? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-questioned-following-defeat-at-Bradford.html
Wenger didn't overhaul the coaching staff, he just had Bould shuffle up the bench - then promptly ignored everything he said. Don't suppose we can offer them Freund and use the opportunity to get a new Ass. Man in?
I think it will fall apart at Arsenal very quickly, if they don't make CL. The mantra of the average Gooner, these past 8 years has been, "yeah, sure, we win fcuk all, but at least Le Prof gets us CL footy!" Okay, but when he can't even get them that, the so-called "faithful" Gooner will turn on him like the Mousers did on Hodgson. It will be very nasty. Remember, you heard it here, first.
Lady Bracewell-Smith has said that Stan Kroenke has no passion for Arsenal, seeing them as a means of making money and nothing more. Lady Bracewell-Smith didn't have these reservations when selling her shares to Kroenke...
I see the let's all laugh at Spurs thread has disappeared from their board for now, probably to try to stop us wumming them
If Lady two names expected anything else from a hard nosed American businessman, she is either incredibly naive, or just telling porkies!..
Was Steve Bould a club/Usmanov appointment? Because he wasn't Wenger's and I can't see why else he wouldn't have resigned if he was unhappy at Wenger's running of the club. He must be an Inside Man surely?
I read a while back that Wenger gets a hefty bonus just for finishing fourth. Whilst saying it rewards mediocrity is going too far, as fourth place is ahead of 4/5 of the Premier League and entitles the club to a seat on the Champions league gravy train, it can be said that it gives Wenger the license to do the bare minimum. However, the bare minimum is a risky business as there's five teams with realistic ambitions towards the Top 4 places - which wasn't the case five years ago.
That's the problem with the wage structure at Arsenal. Manager, Chairman and Chief Executive paid handsomely with handsome bonuses but their socialist wage structure (implemented by Wenger) means that there is no pressure on the average/squad players to improve meanwhile the top players aren't truly rewarded for their efforts. Use your club as an example, Bale was rewarded for his efforts and is now the highest paid player. Why should Arshavin be on more money than RVP was on at the time? Yet when their players want to leave to win things AND double their wages they cry foul play. The whole situation at Arsenal from top to bottom is a mess, at all levels there is no desire, want or even need (after they claim they can cope without CL financially) to improve.
Was looking at the Arsenal wages the other day. While I thinks it's ridiculous that Walnut is now on £100k, you can understand why he'd want to earn more than the likes of Rosicky and Arshavin. If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be seriously miffed about paying the highest ticket prices in the country so that those two can take home £80k a week, when they're not even warming the bench half the time.
