This is coming from one of the worse players ever to disgrace the Newcastle shirt. Maybe if you hadn't hung on to the club like a malignant growth for more than a decade maybe we wouldn't be so rancid

why doesn't someone from the club come out and say 'look we're crap and we know we are... no excuses. We're doing our best and need you behind us'..... instead of blaming everyone and everything else..

My brother has said he is in two minds about keeping his season ticket, we've had them for more years than I remember, he's kept it going, even though he works away from home, and has at times made just 3-4 games a season.

The anger of people leaving the ground on Saturday was understandable, usually everyone is concerned about getting home etc, but leaving the ground, most people were chatting to whoever happened to be close to them, everyone was of the same mind, utter disgust and total disbelief at at a shoddy, shoddy performance.

To be fair I think Pards and the players have said that at various times its not good enough. Its just on occasion he has made some really silly comments to accompany it. The players too are making daft comments, Shola's a case in point.

Its two fold for me I have to say. I wish the club would give up this PR campaign, stop rolling out Pards and the players as they've ran out of constructive things to say. Its just grating now, just put up and shut up. The press are slaughtering us anyway so I wouldn't worry about upsetting them by refusing interviews. Time for a siege mentality and start grinding out results.

Secondly I think our fanbase need to stop being so sensitive to these media comments, and reading too much into what's said. Half the time they've been led into a juicy soundbyte. It bores the arse off me listening to the "I can't believe this ****er is blaming the fans" etc etc. Pardew and the players know full well they along with the board are responsible. Some of our fans didn't help with the booing but anyone reading Pardews comments and thinking he is blaming the fans is just daft.

Neither is likely to happen of course.

If they did, Shola would've spent at least some time working on his fitness instead of shopping for hats and looking like having the fitness of a sunday-league player

You know when you say something and your wife/girlfriend takes it totally the wrong way and goes into a massive sulk/shout (sorry to use a sexist generalisation!)....?

This is how we're acting to all these comments. Stop over analysing them - Pardew said on Saturday that negativity spread around the stadium and everyone said he was "blaming the fans"... err, no, he said negativity spread round the stadium, which was absolutely spot on the money - the fans became dejected.

All Shola is saying here (however you want to spin it to get offended) is that the players are upset about it too, which is nice to hear, it's more than the jokers win 2008/09 gave us, they just all sat there not giving a sh*t game after game (Mr Owen, Mr Duff, Mr Viduka, feckin Geremi!!).

So stop whining and get behind the lads, this is when they need us most, not when we're riding high, 5th in the table.

the point is that Shola wasn't having a dig at the paying public. he said that the players hurt as much as the public. what more would you want him to say ?

Here, here – absolutely spot on.

Pardew looked dejected, sulky and defeated in his interview and I believe the 'negativity' comment was something he sensed and perhaps blurted out and immediately regretted.

He would be VERY foolish to make enemies with the fans as they could be the difference for us. He wasn't doing that. Nile Ranger on the other hand shouldn't be anywhere near the club.

But what you have to remember is that a club with 52,000 fans can have a galvanising effect when things go good and a seriously overwhelming negative effect if they get on your back. That's a FACT and he was right.
This is a unique problem for the clubs in that bottom part of the league and as a consequence we have higher expectations. We HAVE to show positive support or we will make playing at home a nightmare.

If the players start fearing playing at SJP then we are DOOMED, because relying on away points won't work. Same goes for the manager having to make certain decisions. Stay with the team and stay with the manager or we will contribute to the downfall.

I hate saying it as NUFC fans who attend home and away are frustrated and deserve better, but we are where we are...

Hmmmm, now normally I welcome all new members onto the board and encourage them to post. In your case, I will say "welcome", but if you do post again can you please:

1. Make more sense
2. Not attack other members of the forum with abusive comments

If you do that, then we'll all get along nicely. <ok>

What a load of bull, sadly us fans can't do anything bar cheer them on
I would give everything I had and fight for every ball as the club means so much to me
Sadly that's something you don't do
