If Pardew went..... Who would you realistically want and/or expect to come in?

I think it's more likley Pardew will be ran over by a bus than be sacked because he plays to Mike Ashleys tune constantly.

He is just the kind of spineless man for the job.

You could have saved yourself the effort with the chronicle classic "Puppet Pardew".

Unfortunately the sight of him is probably his best attribute <wah>

I feel like people will pick-up the wrong end of the stick when I say I want Pardew out. Like I think we have some self-proclaimed right to be in the top half, top 8, top 4. We don't. I just want to be happy I watched the game, and that for me isn't always about results. If we were 16th and playing enjoyable football to watch, I'd be skipping down to the home games, but we aren't.

It's fine having less ambitious models when it's effective, but when it's not effective you're left with a terrible product. It's a trade-off we shouldn't be making with these players in my opinion. I look at Swansea, and wonder why we can't have that little bit of spark and invention with international standard players. To me, Pardew's game plan is purposefully stodgy, with the hope that we have enough match-winners that one will pop-up and win the game out of nothing (certainly nowt Pardew has inspired). It's just not happening this season.

I'm so confused about it, though. We could all sit in a room with Alan Pardew and watch Barcelona play, and we'd all agree - including Pardew - that their football is the best. We could do the same sort of thing with the likes of Swansea, or Dortmund, or PSG, or whoever (sorry, just randomising the names as much as possible) and agree that it looks good. Then we could turn around and look at the NUFC squad and recognise that Ben Arfa, Cisse, Cabaye, Santon, Debuchy, Marveaux, Anita and so on are capable of playing the game well. They do it in fits and starts, but seem to constantly struggle with the supporting cast, the movement of colleagues and generally the formation. Pardew was the sole reason for failure on Saturday and when you look back has failed us on numerous occasions in formation (4-4-2 for far too long) and personnel (Jonas? Shola? Really?!). It's been pretty consistent, his ability to make bad things worse. We are in our worst ever Prem form, and have been beaten at home off more teams than I care to think about.

Last season, it was all about the defence. Not just back 4, but Jonas tracked back all the time, and the likes of Tiote actually played well. I mean, we finished in 5th but with a GD of +12 or something, with the likes of Man U finishing on +50. I would just need to see some evolution, a change in what we were doing. When we entered this season, I knew the continuous phrase of "we kept our best players, that's the main thing" would come back to haunt Pardew and it has. I thought - right, we're the 5th best team in England now, we have to act like it. We have to show up, play at teams, they are going to fear us. Put them on the back foot, because we cannot counter-attack through a second season, but from the very first minute of the Spurs game we have played with the same lack of urgency. I don't get it, I don't understand it at all with the only possible, feasible excuse being that Pardew does not know how to get the best out of the team. So he has to go.

Have to say I completely disagree. I believe our problem is our over urgency. We rush everything and are incredibly naive. We have been ahead a few times this season. We never have that calmness to slow our play and suck the life out of the opposition. We 100mph for a second goal, leave ourselves open and get punished. Then we feel sorry for ourselves, forget how to play and concede a 2nd. Then we have another frantic 10mins at the end. Its the same every game. Pardew simply must remind them to play and show game awareness, and Colo should have led the team better. Otherwise we just get frantic direct football looking for any way back into a game.

We had that last year. We could get ahead and retain possession, frustrate teams. The players we have in the squad lend itself to cute counter attack, yet we want to play on the front foot the whole time. We only added Anita! You can't suddenly become a different team. We have to go back to doing what we did at Norwich defensively and just improve how we hold the ball. Let teams come to us a bit instead of this naive gap-leaving frenzy.

We have played nothing like last season. We never built a solid base to work from like last year, and decided we were better than we actually were. We have played some decent football at times but early on in the season we were too long. I don't believe it was tactical. Krul for some reason lost the plot and we still hadn't worked out the Williamson issue. Teams become energised when the ball is near him. We have forgotten all about having a solid base. For the last 2 months I have watched every single side we have played target Santon, yet we have never learnt. Pardew has clearly not reined him in and explained his primary duty is to defend. He spends the majority of the game in the other teams half. We're not ****ing Brazil yet in several other games since November, I have seen the golden rule of one full back pushing forward at a time broken.

Pardew and the coaching staff need to sort this out. I don't mind a quick start at home, pushing to get a goal up. 1-0 is a precarious scoreline though. If you get two up you can afford a bit less structure but not at 1-0. Even at 2-0 it is about game awareness, knowing when a teams will is broken. Then we must learn to frustrate sides and pull them around. We do drop off when we go in after a break but not everywhere. Our full backs still bomb forward! You do one or the other, you either try to stay high intensity everywhere (folly in the PL for me) or you drop off as a team.

Want: Nigel Adkins, something about the bloke I like. Maybe his massive success in every club he has managed? Maybe his brilliant man management skills?! Maybe the fact he was brought up and played for my local side, or possibly it's because by all evidence he is a far better manager than Alan Pardew.

Who I would expect: I don't know, someone like Joe Kinnear. A useless sack of **** who will condemn us to relegation. Our recent form has done nothing but turned me into a pessimistic alchoholic who shouts at pigeons in the park, Pardew simply does not know what he's talking about. A couple weeks back we where "In trouble.." Now (according to the journal) he's saying "Guys it's fine we've still got games.." If you throw enough **** at a wall some will eventually stick seems to be his philosophy.

On a side note, I believe I made a post much like this a couple months ago when I wanted Pardew gone. Damn you.

Gary Neville...get Beckham as his 2nd. Profile of the club goes through the roof.
Ashley can dip big time into his £2bn i.e. £150m and trophies would be won in 3 years.

    ah well...Eastenders is on now.
