Most overrated player to have ever played in the PL is undoubtedly Jamie Carragher. The guy has never put together a solid season of good form, hence why Liverpool have never won the league with him in there defence. It is also no coincidence that 3 England managers never deemed him good enough to play regularly for us. He always has been slow, uncomfortable on the ball, and can barely pass a ball. He often fouls the opposition just to bail himself out of trouble. The only positive for him is he's brave, but that really isn't enough when the rest of your game is dreadful. Pundits have ranted and raved for years about Jamie Carragher, but I really cannot understand why. Maybe it's because most of the TV pundits are former Liverpool players, I really don't know
All Lampard does is score a wide variety of goals consistently... terrible that EDIT: Not sure what you mean by Carra being uncomfortable on the ball... He's never been a Lucio or a Hummels, or even Agger... but he's always been a fine passer. He's also always been very good at passing back to the keeper under intense pressure and so on. But his best years are long behind him.
I have to take issue with your view on Lucas. He's an outstanding player and we missed him terribly when he was injured. A lot of Liverpool 'supporters' used to think he was cack. I never did. You don't get to be captain of Brazil's u21s if you're cack
I think Lucas is average or just above average. He has been hyped up into being something special as is the usual case with average LFC players. The best thing about it is the fans making Lucas out to be this outstanding world class midfielders are the same ones who make Carrick out to be ****
As Eric says really. I know he's improved but he's not as good as you all crack on so by that very definition he is over rated.
Sorry Eric. You're wrong as is Rufflad. When you see him play live, you get a proper appreciation of his quality
