Why is it suddenly "lets blame Mark Bunn" time.

We have even got a poll on another thread extolling the virtues of Lee Camp as a replacement.FFS

Granted he is not as good as Ruddy, but not many are
But I can remember Ruddy being slated on here when he first game to City(Forster was the one for us,I remember)

This guy is not a bad keeper,OK he is ONLY 6ft tall, but his shot stopping is excellent (PL moment)
There may be a slight flaw in coming for crosses, but most modern keepers prefer staying on the line.

Our problem is to stop the crosses,Both Garrido and Martin were awful on Sat and crosses were flying in.Snodgrass was defending more than Martin, and Bennett was poor in helping Garrido.

Come on guys lets get behind Bunny,he is our keeper for at least next 8-10 games,so
    show him some support.

    Rant over :steam::steam:

I put on a post Saturday that even if he does make an error than we shouldn't get on his back. Personally I don't think he was responsible for any of the goals on Saturday. People are pinning Gerrard's goal on him but I witnessed 3 of our players unable to stop Glen Johnson running at us to lay off the ball for Gerrard. And how many times as Gerrard lashed one in from there?
Goalkeeper is the real specialist position in the team and one easy to criticise. But of course, the crowd are right on top of the keeper and he is an easy target.

Yarco I assume we are looking at Camp for no other reason than JR is going to be out for longer than is being admitted to so it sensible to get in a fair replacement for Bunn should he get injured or pick up a red we would be in the same position we were when Gunny broke his leg we all know where that finished
Bunn is a good keeper we should all get behind him

But isn't Declan Rudd a good keeper and back up? I wondered why we took Bunn on but readily accepted it was the manager's choice and we go with it and back him. But surely if we took on another keeper, we might as well let Rudd and Steer go.

I haven't blamed Mark Bunn for any goals but I am guilty of making comparisons to him with the much bigger JR.

It is not his fault he is not as big and I do maintain JR, in all probability, would have conceded less goal in the last two months purely because of his longer reach, without getting in to the positioning and commanding of his box aspects.

MB is perhaps the smallest keeper I can remember in a Norwich shirt and as such, it is noticeable when the balls runs passed past him by only an inch or two (Liverpool 3rd goal for example). As I said on Saturday, I do not blame MB for any of the goals but I do feel a bigger keeper may have stopped possibly two of them.

agree that its not his fault he is smaller than JR and JR might have got finger tips to some of them and saved them. but each time i cant help thinking if only JR was in goal ...

does anyone understand why Lee Camp would move to norwich as when ruddy is back its very unlikely camp will be 1st choice? if he was that good he would have been picked up by, and with all disrespect to forest, a bigger team before now as he has been there since 2009?

It looks a strange situation all round really. I agree that if Lee Camp joins then surely Steer has to go, otherwise there is no point.

He done all he could on Saturday. The midfield lost us that game, it might as well as been 6 v 16 as we only seemed to pass to red shirts.

Lee Camp is only an inch taller than Bunn, so I can't see much difference there. JR is 6'4" and most keepers look small by comparison. I felt that Bunn did well on a disastrous day, when Johnson and Tettey floated in and out of the match, sometimes excellent, but at others simply late to react. Archant made Bunn MotM and I'd agree with that (not that there was a whole lot of competition!).

Bunn is a couple of inches too short - simple as that. A shot that Ruddy tips round the post gets past Bunn but in fairness CH must have known that when he bought him. If the rumours of interest in Camp are true - and I hope they are just paper talk - we again have the age old problem of our youngsters. Man Utd have enough faith in De Gea to make him first choice at 21 but we have not enough faith in 22 year old Rudd as third choice. Ruddy is only supposed to be out for another month but even if it is longer how much older has Rudd got to be before some faith is shown in him. I really cannot believe there is any truth in this story as surely CH has greater concerns elsewhere. As far as that goes I still cannot go along with the current obsession with signing strikers. Every match Bassong misses we fall apart - surely that requires more urgent attention as does the fact that we are not creating chances rather than missing them. As with Bunn - CH obviously considered in the last transfer window that Kane was an able reinforcement to the striking department - why has that changed now he has recovered from his injury?

Yarco i never said lets replace Bunn with Camp. I just thought if we did get him i guessing he's competition for Bunn or is he in for another reason i don't know.

I don't think we are desperate for another keeper.. I also don't see why Rudd isn't given a chance hopefully against Luton or possibly see if there is a chance of a loan for Rudd.

My thinking on Camp moving here is to A: Give Bunn competition for his place while JR is injured, CH obviously doesn't think Rudd is up to the high profile position in the PL right now.
B: In Camps position at present he is despised by the Forrest fans for his sulking behaviour after he was refused permission to speak with Swansea the season they got promoted, so for him and us its a chance for him to show case himself to either gain a longer contract with us or to earn himself a bigger contract else where? Thats my spin on it!
