Indeed Lamby they had no money and sold players from underneath him thus leaving him with limited resources
Have to say the more I read the more I can understand why NC has gone for Mr P. He's good with the youngsters has an international pedigree and likes to play attractice flowing football. I was gutted to lose Nigel but I do think our new manager could be the real deal!
Come on don't be lazy. It's Pochettino. I've finally managed to spell his name without looking at it!
Least The Met Office were wrong about the more snow and ice Game On!. Hard game today but still think we can get a win.
Yes stay positive. If we can get a result against Arsenal and Chelsea then Everton should not scare us!
So pick the one negative one, ignoring the tons of mitigating factors, despite the fact that he had a great track record before that.
Only performances & results will quash the fear, all the typing over stats will get us no-where. I just hope NC is one step ahead like usual, if not, we shall be on a fast road to poo'sville. I've heard its not nice there.
Yes I have beef, but if you read that post again, its actually quite accurate & not defeatist, so find another target, if you may.
Difficult one to predict. We have been in good form but difficult to know how the unexpected change in manager will affect the players. Everton are a very good team and are a good striker away from 4th place. They are however the draw specialists and I think that is probably the most likely result. However the atmosphere in St.Marys could make the difference one way or another. If we go 1-0 down then I can see an over dramatic cloud of negativity descend on the crowd. I think it's important to show our support for Nigel, and don't think chants of 'There's only one Nigel Adkins' would have a negative impact so long as we also get behind the players, encourage them if we fall behind and warmly welcome Pochettino. Hopeful but not expectant. Best way to honour Nigel's achievements is to win.
Think we have all gone through the change cycle really quickly over the last three days. Seems most of us now at least understand why NC made his decision even if we disagree with the way it was done. When you look at our set up and the youngsters coming through this is still a really exciting time to be a Saints fan. Let's all just enjoy the ride!
What was the 'logic' he applied then? I'm intrigued. As for tonight, I'd imagine the atmosphere will be quite tense, if we can get an early goal I can see your crowd expressing their feelings about Adkins sacking more vocally. If I was Moyes I'd send us out to go at you hard from the first whistle & hope to get that early break through. We need 3 points if we're to maintain a realistic interest in the race for 4th, so it's a massive game for us tonight.
Southampton Football Club have appointed Jesús Pérez, Miguel D'Agostino and Toni Jiménez to its First Team management staff: http://sfcne.ws/10LRxDG
lol, is that it? Adkins had taken you up 2 years running, had delivered the '5 year plan' in 2 & after a difficult start (in the toughest league in the World) was stabilising you as a PL side, with 2 defeats in 12 - & he he somehow wasn't the man to take you to the next level? No offence, but after such a shocking call like that from your Chairman, I hope the level the new fella takes you to, is the Championship.
