On the continental route wasn't Hughton looking at some of Anderlecht's forwards a month or so ago? Not sure which one.

Digging around, Anderlecht's forwards consist of:

Matias Suarez- transfermarkt values him at £7.9m, he's 24, ambidextrous, but mainly plays as a support striker or winger, rather than a lone striker. He's known more as a creator than a goalscorer, but did score 12 last season. He was last seasons Belgian league player of the season. But when CSKA Moscow tried to buy him for £11.3m last summer, he failed a medical, due to a knee problem he couldn't shake off, which as of last summer required surgery and a 4 month lay-off. Arsenal and Liverpool have apparently been rumoured to be interested. Personally, I don't think he'd fit a 4-2-3-1, but if he's over the injury could be one hell of a player. I don't think it's him we're after though.

Dieumerci Mbokani - transfermarkt values him at £7m, he's 27, and plays as an out and out centre forward. He's scored 28 in 40 since joining Anderlecht, including 24 goals in 26 games this season. He's scored in the champions league, and averages a goal a game in the league this year. That includes 6 headers, so I assume he's not bad in the air? He's 6ft 1, not that that means a lot. His career record is 101 goals in 212 matches. He wants to play in the Premier League, with Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton linked. Metro reported in November that he could be available for £8.5m, possibly less. From the pitfall-ridden impression Youtube gives, I'd say he's powerful, decent in the air, with reasonable pace and good ball control. I'd assume by his stats he's a decent finisher too.

Tom de Sutter - valued at £1.8m, he'd certainly be cheaper than the other two. He's 27, and very tall (1.92m), seemingly suited to a lone striker role? 12 goals in 26 appearances this season, including a goal in the champions league. Overall record is 64 in 221 games, so not as prolific as Mbokani, nor does he create as many.

They've also got Samuel Armenteros on their books, valued at £1.8m. Armenteros is 22, and on loan in Holland, so I doubt he'd have been the target of a scouting trip to Anderlecht.

The other big name at Anderlecht would be Biglia, who has been discussed before. If I was to completely speculate, the bids for Hooper and Graham would suggest we're maybe not interested in Mbokani, as he'd probably cost the most, and if we haven't moved by now I think it's starting to get a bit late. Judging by stats alone, I like the look of him though. De Sutter would be a cheaper option, whether he's any better than Morison or not I don't know, but they'd probably cost a similar amount for a buying team. Maybe Graham or Hooper, and then De Sutter to add a bit more depth, with Morison or Jackson leaving? Completely speculating though. A £15m double swoop for Biglia and Mbokani would be amazing.

The Camp rumour is odd, but seems a bit too odd to be pure speculation! I still think 4 senior 'keepers is a bit excessive though.

If true, I think it's a bit of a snub to Rudd and Steer, and will no doubt dent Bunn's confidence, so I guess it comes down to how good Camp really is? If Camp can come in, for free, on a 4 month contract and low wages, and genuinely push Bunn, maybe it's an option. It'd also allow Rudd to go out on loan and hopefully get more game time. But, I don't know if it's going to cause more confusion and uncertainty in the defence, which is something I'd want to avoid. Tricky one!

(And yes, I called a 4th keeper ridiculous earlier, but I think the context in which that was being talked about was a proper signing with a transfer fee and a long term contract, which I would still call unnecessary, I'm not entirely sold on this idea either)

It's another place taken in that 25 man squad too.

Find it strange, but could ruddy not be returning till the summer?

One has to think about the seriousness of the injury that this could well be the case and hence this actually makes good sense then, also love the bit about upsetting the Binners:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Reports suggested we've upped our bid for properly scouted and assessed target Gary hooper in a bid to sign the rated striker that actually exists.

Bored monday morning at work so thought I would share the latest rumours on a well know rumour site ...... Hope some of this is true

This is from a very very reliable source who told us about tettey before anything. Norwich have tabled 6 bids. Two of what we know are Danny graham, Gary hooper (8m) hooper will cost 8m that's the asking price. So the other 3 are belived to be 2 players from abroad not 100% who but one is allowed to leave on a free and ch has watched him even at his days at Newcastle. And last bid is hard to guess but Birmingham have been offered 5m for someone know the only players we can think of is Redmond or butland and Curtis was mentioned but his price tag is 3m as Norwich fans know most transfers are kept secret but the source has said that 2 have been accepted today.

Follow up after lots of people shooting him down

Okay talked to my mate and he was correct Danny graham has been going permission to talk to Norwich Celtic have counter offered hooper and said if the player reject there new offer the 7m will be accepted with add ons if we stay up. A championship player from Birmingham is apparently Davis Birmingham will reply tomorrow with asking price as CH does not want to disrupt the team with making a bid. And 2 from broad is a midfield player I have never heard don't even know how to spell his name he is a midfielder and we have made enquires about a right back from the French league again no name giving. ch is not looking for a goalkeeper. There will be stuff reported either Monday-Wednesday papers.

Wow, that's a lot to digest zeller, I do think CH will bring in a 'keeper though. I'm getting really concerned about JR and I'm starting to think that his injury is much, much worse than originally thought <ok>

jr, i was enquiring whether or not camp had been playing this season. you're right about the daily record, but i'm sure we will go back with another offer, clearly the first one hasn't unsettled him as he scored twice on saturday

I would be happy with hooper for 7 million any more and it wouldnt be value you for money, the only reason i say this is because Chelsea got Ba for 7.5 million. Yes it was a release clause but that was the valuation of the player at the time.

I agree. All this talk of Hooper being worth £9-10 million - regardless of how long is on his contract or regardless of what some website reckons after some kind of multiplier is take into account - is bonkers if you ask me and if Celtic wanted a penny more than £7m for a player who has never even kicked a ball in a competitive top flight division then I'd sincerely hope we'd say "thanks, but no thanks".

On another note I cannot believe the stick Carrabuh gets by the way. I know he and I have had our fair share of disagreements over the years but I personally find it ridiculous the way a lot of people on here are brainwashed into thinking everything he says is rubbish (because it quite clearly isn't) and can't wait to try to belittle his every comment with unneccessary put downs that are often way over the top. Of course there are players out there somewhere better than Hooper available for less than £5m, and anyone who doesn't appreciate this or think signing Hooper for £9m is good business needs to have a look at themselves if you ask me <ok>

Have to agree with this, BUT - we're not going to unearth foreign affordable gems until we become an established Premier League side, with an established European scouting division. Unless we go by video evidence or word of mouth <doh>

Rome wasn't conquered in a day - neither was Lisbon, Zagreb, Sofia...........

Wigan have managed to unearth plenty of gems from overseas with a smaller budget than ours - Valencia, Zgobia, Palacios, Figueroa, Diame to name but five off the top of my head so it's not as impossible as some people appear to be making out.

Guys can we just stop and think about Lee Camp for a second

He's a good championship keeper who for some reason has never made it to the Premiership. Ahead of him will be Ruddy, probably Bunn, and I would put Rudd on level terms.

I have no idea why we are wasting wages and a squad space on another keeper. The ONLY reason I can see is if Bunn leaves in the summer, and Rudd/Steer both already have loans arranged, or if Camp is on a 6-month contract.
