I don't pay much attention to any of these reports until I see the player in a Toon shirt on the NUFC.CO.UK site.

    Might be happening again:

    GFNFrance ‏@GFN_France

We are hearing that #Arsenal have also made a late bid for #Mbiwa. Everything is agreed with #NUFC, but its up to the player now. #AFC

If true, kiss it goodbye. No brainer for the lad. Have to say I never really believed he was coming here. A french international centre back, highly sought after to join relegation fight? Why?

Debuchy will be the cry but there is history to that one and his big mate Cabaye is here.

    Can't see it myself.

Does anyone know if the airport is operational ? It's bad enough that Arsenal may step in and hijack this deal at last minute without the weather turning against us aswell lol.

Have a nasty feeling we will be disappointed again, it would make such a great headline.......

Newcastle United transfer target hijacked for a second time.... Hope it's not true, but l can just see it, the way our luck is at the moment.

Arsenal and Wenger arent known for their hasty approach to incoming transfers, but then this could have obviously been in the offing for a while. If we get another player snatched from under our noses i am going to book tomorrow off work and get absolutely high as a mental person and drink brandy till dawn. Mind you, I may do that anyway if we actually sign someone else. Win - win you might say.

He will do to Arsenal for sure.
We'll then hear all about how we couldn't 'get a few players' over the line... but did all we could.
Expect Fat Mike to put a bid in for Messi later on today.... another unrealistic pile of crap.

For anybody that doesn't watch much French football, this guy is ridiculously good.

He stands out in that league head and shoulders above every defender outside of Paris, at least. French football isn't about long balls and constant crosses, it's played on the ground a lot more so aerially the guy is relatively untested but his strength and height suggest he'll clean up anyhow. He is so good at taking the ball and running out of defence with it, I'm not talking like David Luiz where he gets near the half way line and then loses the ball, the guy is so composed. Even if Coloccini stays this guy should end up your best defender if you sign him.

Massive bargain, if he was English we'd be talking £20m+

For what it's worth, if Arsenal sign him then their priorities are all wrong because they're desperate in other positions.

Sounds like a lifestyle choice way things are going.

I propose we now send our scouts out in camouflage and do our dealings under the cloak of night.
