Bids should have to be placed by carrier pigeon, just for fun. Transfer market would be so much more entertaining if this was the case, the 'race' to sign a player would be literal. Not to mention the extra betting oppurtunities this would open.
Bruce got Zaki banging them in, and signed some brilliant talents for Wigan who went onto far better things. They are on loan which is another positive, however its a big if. Not sure if there is anything in this, anyone from the club confirmed we have put bids in? Have to say we do need a few signings before our next league game to get the buzz back again amongst the crowd.
Bruce confirmed we were in talks, and was really coy about who it was with and who we were in talks for. Their club has confirmed it so that is good enough for me.
What I don't understand is the Egyptian league i supposed to start in February I think. Why would the top club want to lend us 2 of their best players for 6 months? Just because we're playing them in a pre-season and letting them use our facilities?
It could be all that and the fact that the Allams are friends of theirs. We also have donated money to their fund for the tragedy they had in that game. All the money generated from our preseason game is going to their fund as well. If we get them I am sure we will pay a good size fee. Since they are the dominant team in their league maybe losing them wont ruin their chances anyway.
Couple of good points there, the likes of Valencia, Palacios and Figueroa were all unknowns before Bruce signed them for Wigan. The buzz feels like its definitely gone in the last week or two, a couple of good signings could quickly bring that back.
Sorry if this has been posted all ready but here is KingFut's player profile of Gedo http://www.kingfut.com/2013/01/20/player-profile-gedo/ I like how they say "Gedo’s playing style is that of a poacher. His smart runs behind the back of the defence and his movement both inside and outside of the box are both key factors in his prolific goal scoring record. His best position is just off the centre forward; while his movement usually drags defenders out of positions, creating space in the box." I think a poacher style striker is what we have been missing in Fryatt's absence
I would imagine it will be with a view to a perm so ideally they wont ever return to Egypt at the end of the loan anyway (certainly not to play anyway)
