Maybe he got the Toyota WEC job? I know he drove for them at Le Mans last year.

You would of thought Brazil would get sick and tired of Senna failing...

Yeah, I thought the same thing when it looked like he wouldn't be retained at Williams.

Sad the way F1 is going really.
Bernie needs to be removed for a start. None of this pay driver nonsense, why don't teams scout talent and get funding from somewhere else.
Or does that not work anymore?

Well sponsorship is about brand exposure. Senna delivers that with his name and comes across as a good guy so its not a surprise that Brazilian companies like to put their names next to his. No idea what fan consensus is at this point.

I was quite a big fan in 2011, but he didn't show that speed once in 2012 in a better car, so i have no defence for him. I was massively disappointed. That said i still rate 2 or 3 guys with 2013 drives lower than him and he did at least achieve some consistency so i think he'd do a reasonable job for a small team.

Senna is like an F1 version of Jordan in my opinion. Doesn't do much but apart from sell the name down the river to make money.

Quite insulting actually if you ask me, his uncle made that name famous and Bruno is pretty much running it through the gutter for a few extra million. B.Senna Jnr wont get the same kind of following when he tries F1...

The problem with F1 is that the money needs to be spread more evenly throughout the teams whilst still allowing Ferrari to have a distinct advantage and this balance is very difficult to address.

Very harsh that. That Jordan comparison is pretty nonsensical. Bruno does at least have some talent. Enough? He probably falls just short, but he's not an embarrassment, not to mention i do think he is a genuine racing enthusiast rather than just a media whore. Can't help but feel this post might have been somewhat influenced by the events of Brazil 2012s second corner <whistle>

For my money the name should never have prestige anyway. The man should and Ayrton always will.

It's always been like that, pay drivers are nothing new, you really don't think drivers like Paul Belmondo, Johnny Dumfries, Delatraz, Al Pease or Inoue actually got into F1 on talent do you?

By comparison to those guys our 2012-13 spec pay drivers are gods.

Glock out. Confirmed. The team admit it is for funding reasons.

Jumping Jenson! I wonder who will fill the gap? Van der Garde? Petrov?

I bet Bernie is feeling pretty smug with this news

So Glock has indeed left Marussia. Can't say I blame him but why now and not following Brazil? Anyway. Who will replace him?

    - Kovalainen?
    - Kobayashi?
    - Karthikeyan?
    - Senna? (if he doesn't get the Caterham seat)
    - Sutil? (if he doesn't get the FI seat)
    - Petrov? (see two above)
    - di Resta? (if he's booted out of FI)

I wonder if this was one of the sticking points for the FI/Caterham announcements.

Well we know its for funding. Hopefully they wont hire someone too bad. Its probably going to be whoever from Senna and Petrov doesn't get the Caterham seat.

I thought Petrov had sponsorship issues himself. Have I missed something?
