Dont think FSG were really ever interested in the player anyway, they WONT part with there money. I expect LFC to show interest in buyin players...without actually signing them in the future

I wonder which side of that you are on? <laugh>

Too many soundbites about experience lately though to just be smoke for me. Just don't know if it will be now or the summer.

Told by the artist formerly known as Duncan Jenkins that the journo's said we were defo after him, and he would defo have come IF we would of met his Adviser's financial demands. Gala have give him around £120,000 pw AFTER tax. DJ was told that he'd of accepted a little less to come here as he much preferred PL.

They reckoned our best offer was £100,000 with very good incentives and performance-related add-ons (little less than Suarez), but after all the taxes it would of been nowhere near Gala's offer (mainly because of tax laws here, whereas very little tax in Turkey and easier to get round).

Shows his first motivation is money though and we don't need those types of players yet. We need massively hungry and ambitious players which is why were sticking to younger players (although I believe we need some extra experience adding).

(all our contracts are structured this way now which makes agreeing deal with the top players I'm told as not guaranteed a high weekly wage even if lazy, rubbish, injured etc)

The only thing that I struggle to believe is how many people that actually thought he might come! It was never on. <ok>

i think the biggest stumbling block is our new contract type we are offering players from now on,

nothing wrong with players wanting to come here, why wouldn't they, but most want the basic wage inc not made up of incentives which we seem to be trying to do.

we wont get experienced players that way, but this might be a good move to entice players like Erikson, Isco etc young and hungry, guess we will see come Summer if it works, hope so.

Echo said that we were interested and had contacted his representatives. I feel that if we matchd Gala's offer, then he would have come here.

Don't blame the owners for not stumping up the cash for him - very expensive risk in my opinion. I think we're focussing our efforts on Coutinho now :)

    Thank **** <ok>

The fact that he'll go and play in Turkey just for the cash tells you all you need to know about him. I do understand what a struggle life would have become on only £100 grand A WEEK <laugh> Poor lad might have starved.

I know that the Echo is normally spot-on. However, my mate believes he has more of Rodgers' ear than even the Echo reporters do .
