Sky Sports reporting deluge of money being placed on Pardew to be sacked. Odds went from 10/1 down to 3/1 after Reading now it's 1/5 on. Anyone in the know ?

The fact he's a useless manager who can't figure out tactics or substitutions to save his own life probably has something to do with it...

Probably because of lots to talk on Twitter, followed by more people placing bets, which always brings the odds down. I'm not reading much into it to be honest.

Apparently Pardew has been in a 2 hour meeting with the board today... According to ever reliable twitter rumour.

If they do sack him then I really hope they know who they're replacing him with. I can imagine Mike and Derek messing around for a couple of weeks before settling for their third choice.

And if Mbiwa etc aren't having doubts after results like reading, I wonder what they'll think about joining a managerless club...

Bent's odds have shortened to come here today as well, I believe - Absolutely no way that's happening!

Don't tend to believe bookies odds. Sky Sports reporters would be ahead of the Twitter goss if he really was going to get the bullet, I think. Just think Moat. BBC and ITV teams pushed back to the point they can't see anything, but a Sky reporter pops up in the middle of the field between police and the suspect!

For a moment I thought you were talking about Barry Moat's proposed take-over of the club... :/

How has he become so bad overnight ??
Maybe he was lucky last year with injuries and all that
But he has lost the plot. I would prefer to get new blood on board first
If he does go then god knows what clown we would bring in
I still remember the moments I found out about kinnear and pardew
    Dark times

He'd be ok with Gazza behind him.

That is what the bookies must of heard and cut the odds just in case he was fired.
Probably be back out to 3/1 tomorrow.
If you fail to beat Villa then the writing could be on the wall, especially as you have a couple of tough league games to follow

That particular market is very fickle, as its not very popular it doesn't take a huge stake to move the market dramatically. For example in December O'neil was 4/5 on at one point, now he 33/1.

NEXT manager to get sacked, if you look at the bigger picture it's hard to see another manager who is heavily under pressure.

    Fergie - never
Mancini - maybe after the season finishes
    Benitez - no point
    AVB - not this year
    Moyes - never
Wenger - unlikely but you never know
Rodgers - got them going recently, job is looking safe
Clarke - punching well above expectations, not this year
Laudrup - doing a fantastic job
    Pulis - Mr Stoke
O'Neill - Pulling Sunderland clear, good timing, going nowhere
Allardyce - still on course for season objective, although he has a tendency to be fired out of the blue.
Hughton - Doing well, up and down season but good enough to keep him employed
Jol - Good manager, nobody better for the Fulham job, should be safe
Poccetino - not even started yet, total dump but he'll keep his job
PARDEW - Massively underachieving with season objectives, lost the crowd, lost his captain, lost the plot, completely out of his depth.
Lambert - Villa's yank won't care if he takes them down, can tell he lost interest a long time ago, bleak future for Villa by the looks of it.
McDermott - Got Reading in some good form, good manager with limited resources.
Martinez - Safest job in football behind Fergie given the loyalty he has shown Wigan.
Arry - I think QPR are heading for disaster but I'd be surprised if he is sacked by them, he'll walk more than likely when the money dries up.

Pardew is odds on because he's by far the worst performing manager in this division, well that and the fact that Skybet like to engineer rumours via Sky Sports News to generate bets.

We just haven't been playing football at all over the last few games, we've been a disgrace and to get humbled at Brighton the way we did was like a kick in the teeth. Leaving Newcastle at 1:00 am to watch that kind of rubbish isn't good for the health or the pocket. We should have been given our money back.

Norwich might be more of an ask but we just didn't perform there either. We should be able to do better at home than we have been doing though. The game against Reading showed how far off the pace we really are, a dire performance without any game plan.

Whilst l am fast losing faith in Pardew, to sack him now would be an absolute disaster, because

    1. We must resolve the Colo issue
    2. It will totally scupper any possible transfers this window
    3. Ashley and Co will have no viable replacement lined up
    4. The team morale will sink even lower IMO than it currently is, if that's possible!
There will be other reasons, but those are the main ones that spring to mind. We need to stick in there and even though it's tough to stomach, hang on to what little stability we have.
