It's a long way off yet and much could happen between then and now. But if our ground is built and we're in league 1, and C*ty haven't managed to get out of it by then, I would imagine that we would be the bigger club!

It would be a very unpalatable fact for our web-fingered cousins to accept. But they would have to rearrange these words:

Your smoke in put it and pipe that.

SOD will make us the bayern munich of league 1. we'll win every game 5-0 then do a southampton and get promoted twice on the trot. then we'll have our new stadium and then proceed to be the best. fact!

we will get relegated.. he might walk away but he won't get sacked. I'm sure our board have sorted something out if the worst does happen.

We won't get relegated. You will. However, I reckon SOD will probably get you back up first or second time of asking. I reckon JW will get us up next year, so I'm hoping and praying for at least one season of local derbies. After UWEStad opens - anything could happen, but I'm pretty confident we'll be upwardly mobile.

But frankly, **** it - none of us are Mystic friggin' Meg, so who knows.....

well SOD wouldn't of came here thinking we can reach the play offs.. he knows the ecxact implications of the club, if he leaves if we go down he should of gone to Blackpool

one things for sure you have a very good chance of staying up.. one win and your out of the relegation zone.. whilst city have to win something like 3 in a row and we probably will still be in the drop places.. and new clubs who get relegated don't bounce back easily like they use to, wolves, blackburn, bolton, yourvelves..

And I seriously can't wait for the first time our two teams meet at UWE.. will be some spectacle.. and I can only see one winner <whistle> :)

I didn't realise it was magic mushroom season, because some of you gasheads on here are talking some ****e.

**** me Bluebaldee, when ever we have been in the same divisions in the past, we have always had the lions share of fans between the clubs.

Coventry have a fantastic ground but no more fans than they had at highfield road. It's a gamble that it pays off. If you improve the play on the field the plastic fans might come and watch for a while. And always remember those fans are not the ones that are hardcore to stay with you through the tough times. Thats the 5k that go now.

Blimey ROD - I know you lot are going down, but no need to be so touchy!

Simple fact is that the majority of clubs who have built a decent new stadium have gone on to do far better on the pitch, thus improving their fan base.

If you can't see that you're delusional.

Swansea, Brighton, Wigan, Doncaster, Hull, Blackpool, Huddersfield - there's loads of examples.

Of course, you've generally had more fans than us, but the last time we were playing local derbies, we were either at the Mem or Twerton - both ****e grounds with limited capacities.

Who gives a **** about 'plastic fans'? What would the hardcore 6k that watched Brighton at the Withdean prefer? Same as before or 20k 'plastic fans' at the Amex? And the same goes for the 4k hardcore Jacks at the Vetch.

Speaking personally, I go to around half our home games at the Mem and one or two away trips per season. If we were playing in a spanking new 21,700 stadium, playing in League One or the Championship, I'd probably get myself a season ticket. If that makes me a 'plastic fan' so be it. But I've been plastic for 35 years now.

The fact of the matter is that a new ground is far, far more likely to bring a club success than staying at a ramshackle old place. With that success comes new fans.

We will have that new ground - it may not bring us the success we crave - but it could well do. If it does, and you're still labouring on at AG, then there's the very real possibility that we will, for a time, become a more successful and better supported club than C*ty. Don't like that possibility? Tough. Not my problem.

add this to your comment bluebaldee....

when uwe stadium is built, we will get concerts and conferences etc which will gain us more income. once ashton vale is eventually made or the gate redeveloped, who do you think they would rather go to, would they continue their business with rovers for the uwe stadium who they formed a bond with or citys new ground? would they pick uwe who is right next to the motorway and train stations which is easier for thier customers or citys ground other side of bristol? think rovers will win that as well :) also as uwe will be built for rugby purposes too, we may get awarded rugby world cup games while bristol rugby cuts up the gates pitch ;)
