I think that we have to be careful that during this small crisis, we don't revert to the old days when anyone who didn't fit into the "we are lucky to be where we are so don't dare criticise the players or staff" group then they were seen as treasonable or disloyal. Some people react badly at bad times and others try and keep calm. I put myself somewhere in between but admit the language was blue yesterday.
But the last two performances have been awful in every aspect so let's not just sit back and pretend we don't have a problem, hopefully easily remedied, at the moment. And if some people think sacking CH and bringing in Heston Blumenthal would be the answer then so be it. If somebody wants us to play Chris Martin up front then so be it.

Ironically, Redruth, I started a seperate thread last night posing this very question.
I think this was worse, because the whole set-up - including Hughton, was new to everybody back in early August.

Similar train of thought, though <ok>

Redruth, I have to say this, I like you very much and I understand your emotion, I just worry that your previous post looked like an attack on gorlestongirl, which I thought was very unfair, I didn't read into her post what you obviously did, and I would hate for her to be unjustly upset!

Just the way I see it <ok>

I think the trouble with alot of people on here is that the result clouds peoples judgement.

For me, I try my level best not to let this happen, I'm reasonably happy with the results.

My personal concerns are with the style of play which I find very basic and lacks creativity, I think if we carry on down this route we will get worse and unable to adapt to get out of any bad runs.

Under Lambert we didn't have a single lengthy rut which we struggled to get out of in 3 years. We've now had 2 in half a season under Hughton and the football is getting worse. Even when we where winning or picking up points the football was pretty wretched stuff to watch.

Hughtons style has proved to be incredibly brittle and unadaptable when things aren't happening. I think it is correct we are yet to come from behind and win.

I'm not at all upset, C-D. Redruth's point is valid. When I talked about keyboard warriors, I guess I didn't have in mind supporters who rely on the internet or radio or live streams to watch us play. If I did, I would be including me, as I have to do just that for most away games. Neither do I think we shouldn't be free to express strong emotions about a disappointing results; anyone who was near me on the coach as we pulled away from Anfield, could vouch for mine. In fact my husband, who is not a football fan, tells everyone that he listens to home game commentaries to find out whether I am going to 'liveable with' when I get home. I suppose, I see keyboard warriors as those who seem to hide behind the cloak of internet anonymity to persistently bad mouth the team, individuals, and, to be honest, seem to thrive when we are doing badly, rather than well.

I see our current situation in this way. We have probably 11 players who are well up to EPL standard. When any of these are injured, we have problems. We have a good, intelligent manager who, and I know this view is not universally shared, sends his team out with a game plan, which, when the team is strong goes well, but which goes wrong when they are off colour. I have noticed that in interviews players talk about their confidence in Hughton's game plans, and feeling confident in the way he prepares them for matches.

Although I get frustrated when things go wrong, Snodgrass's poor set pieces yesterday for example, I don't see that going overboard in slating him is reasonable.

This is our manager, these are our players. Like my family and my closest friends, I reserve the right to say what I think when things are going wrong, but I value above all their loyalty and commitment while they are wearing the yellow shirt, and I observe the same limits as I would if I were face to face with someone I love and respect.

I don't think Redruth meant it as a personal attack at all Skipper.

The fact is there are keyboard warriors on here. Yes, some of us will go to every game that we can live. Some of us will watch streams, some of us will watch the highlights to get an opinion.
BUT, then there are the ones that will pass comment becuase, they have seen it in the Sun, a mate's mate's window cleaner's auntie said this or that.

At the end of the day, we are all City fans, and we all hurt when we get a thumping, or don't turn up.
If we all had the same opinions, it would be a bloody boring place.

Great post Redruth. Totally agree. I put some harsh views up which are exactly that my views. I still hold by them and am looking at Hughton with less faith in his ability, but not calling for his head but to sort it out.

We have been poor and negative during the last few games, which all should be seeing and we will get sucked into a relegation battle if changes are not made.

As for "bitchen" I will voice my opinion on a forum as I am quite entitled to do. No I am not happy and no I will not shut up about it. People can disagree with my views, which I respect, but respect my right to air them.

    Good post also Gorleston girl.

If we didn't have posters with differing viewpoints, we would not have a football forum! <ok>

My only gripe is with petty name-calling, which fortunately we see very little of on here!

Dave, I certainly wasn't having a go at GG whose opinion I have respect for and I did say I found her report entertaining. It was just the last bit and I did qualify that I didn't think it was intentional.
I used to bite very quickly but now I have realised that there is no point getting angry and/or rude with anyone. The odd bit of sarcasm is acceptable on a match day when emotions are high of course. But I just wanted to defend the corner of the guys who rip into the team during a poor performance. My own son gets very heated and the words clueless, spineless and worthless are used frequently during losing games. But he loves City and named his only son, 4 girls as well, Keelan.
On a Sunday morning taking the dogs for a walk he is more reflective. And by Wednesday, they will be the best team on the planet again.
