Can't argue with that - I remember how PL would change tactics part way through a game without changing any players (Swansea away was a classic example), but CH seems to get too bogged down in persisting with a lone forward. Hopefully, this may change if he succeeds in signing Graham or Hooper. Something needs to change if we're to avoid slipping down the league!!!
I don't have issues with the single forward as I like lots of midfielders, but if you sling the ball into the front man at such an early point why do we need 5 in there. Why do we need a midfield, it's not like we are using it properly. Our play is built on getting free kicks and sticking the ball in the box. Now when the balls in have waned in reaching the target the goals have dried up (not that they were plentiful before). How anyone cannot see we need some quality passers of the ball (actually in the midfield) is beyond me. We never go back and forth, side to side and probe the opposition, just get it wide and pump that ball to Holt. He has built the team to do that. That is not the sign of a good manager to me and he needs to buck his ideas up, because at the moment his ideas are sadly lacking in imagination and are truly uninspiring.
Beef, the player you want is always the one we happen to be after. If we signed Juan Pablo you'd be happy, if we signed John Mc Smith from the Shetland Isles youth team you'd be happy. You don't really have an opinion most of the time. For the record I'm not against signing Hooper (or Graham), I'm against paying too much for him.
For the record, Juan Pablo is either a 37 yr old Colombian forward who used to play for Villa, or a 37 yr old ex-F1 driver now in NASCAR. I personally want neither leading our attack.
Juan Pablo has become derogatory term invented to personify "bloody foreign footballers coming over 'ere stopping 'r yoof developing".
Why don't people join in!!! Theres a bundle of names watching and nobody paticipates COME ON join in!!! it gets awfully boring listening to the same people over and over again, (myself included)
To be fair carra, this is a transfer related thread in relation to who were being linked with in the media etc. Not for baffling on about the style of play that the manager should be inflicting etc.
Still, we don't bite, sign up is easy (and get's rid of all the ads!) and we always welcome fresh opinions! Any lurkers feel free to join in.
Thats true.... but the conversation is about types of player to bring in to allow a broadening of our football ability. If you bothered reading it probably wouldn't be as "baffling". If we just said "Mirror reports Norwich are after Gary Hooper" I don't suppose there would be much interest, you'd just look at newsnow or the regional newspaper websites. It's a discussion forum, not a just a reporting tool.
Seems like the debate is going strong cArrabuh I would go British this season, less risky albeit potentially more expensive, but it's critical we stay up Maybe next season is the time to go overseas Right we have according to reports gone in with another bid for hopper. We don't know what Swansea have done re graham. We need one of them for sure. 11 days and counting
From twitter, there's talk we're back in for Welbeck (supposedly from a BBC affiliated account?), and that Graham is on his way to Norwich tonight or tomorrow, for some kind of discussions.
How about signing this guy? I know he is Scottish but that is some class skill http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/scotland/21114412 Before people have a go, I don't seriously believe we should sign him
Well we do need a left winger...Carrabuh'd like him too, clearly his ball skills are good for at least 10 seconds per match. That'd do me nicely. I've found the tweet which reignited this rumour: @PeteSmithBBC: BREAKING NEWS: Norwich City want to sign Man Utd's Danny Welbeck #NCFC #MUFC However, whilst he might have some sort of inside line from the newsroom, it's not actually a BBC affiliated account, it's just his personal one. Edit: Even more on that twitter account, it claims that the info on Welbeck came from his agent, whilst Phil McNulty (proper, verified twitter account of) has apparently called the account bogus, with no BBC links at all.
I'm fully aware of that! I think if you set up a twitter bot to auto tweet [Player Name] to [Club] for every PL player and club, you'd be just as correct as twitter by the end of it. As a bonus, you could go back and delete all wrong predictions as they were proved wrong, and then have a second account retweet the first account correct calls, and you'd suddenly have lots of people believing you'd got an inside line to PL transfers!
