Christ, didn't see that coming! Mutual agreement? Either Glock has a better drive, or had another option and Marussia need the money from another pay driver?

...hence a forum for people with differing views to put forward their opinion. Whilst I acknowledge you concern (and correctly so) over the mocking of Di Resta, I disagree with your opinion of him as a driver.

Didn't know about this before after Brazil: According to @SportBild Seb's part of the team believed "there were two drivers who would drive into a wall for Alonso: Massa and Webber"

    Ouch if it's true!

Glock leaving is a strange one indeed.

For Marussia, they definitely need an experienced driver to lead the team, Chilton can't as he's not experienced enough and apparently not very good.

    Who could they get?

    Senna
    Petrov
    Heikki? (doubt it)
    Alguersuari?
An ex-F1 driver a la Heidfeld, Fisichella, Barrichello?

I think Petrov may take his money there <ok>

If Glock is leaving I hope it is for FI, if it is for good, I will be extremely sad.
    Same is for Kimi.

Until it's announced, i wouldn't read too much into it. Treat it like a football transfer rumour. Bild is basically the german Daily Mirror.

That was my thinking, but it wouldn't make a lot of sense. FI already have a 3 into 2 situation with Sutil, PDR and Bianchi, so Glock, who I don't believe has funding, and I would put on a par with Sutil in terms of experience, wouldn't seem like a particularly logical move (though logic doesn't often seem to apply in the world of F1!). I can't see Glock going to Caterham, because I really think Marussia will have a better car this season. The 'mutual termination' would imply it suits both parties which is strange. All I can think of is that Glock has an offer from elsewhere, and Marussia are perhaps slightly tighter on funds than they expected, so a chance to bring in a pay driver might work for both parties.

It's still in the rumour stage, but it's been picked up on by several twitterers, and to me it seems both an unlikely thing to start with no evidence, and also very definite, for a rumour. Surely it'd have started with "Glock may be leaving Marussia" or something similar, rather than an out and out "He's gone".

Maybe he just got bored of wasting three years not actually racing anyone, got some decent money for it rather like Heikki. Maybe Maurissa wanted a cheaper option who might bring money to the team

There are rumours he's leaving F1, the quote in Bild is "to make myself new challenges and continue my journey in motorsports"

Hmm, that would probably make sense, although I can't see why you wouldn't want to be in F1, so that's probably clouding my judgement. Sky Sports have picked up the news, and there's quotes being attributed to him. I think, strangely, this might actually be true!

Edit: Also Dirk Muller (DTM driver) has tweeted Glock saying "Welcome to the club", I can only assume that means he's going to DTM?

Dirk Muller is a WTCC driver i think, and BMW announced their lineups for ALMS, WTCC and DTM the other day, so there's no vacancies there.

By the looks of it: "welcome to the club" must just mean welcome to BMW in general. Le Mans, DTM +1 spot left...

Well he is a talent for sure, so it would be good to see him in a seat.

Risky move though, Ex F1 drivers never do well in DTM.

Interesting stuff from Buemi yesterday though: "Some important news very soon. A good week end to everyone!"

    Buemi to Marussia?
