Here's the latest on the situation, Ahly confirm loan offers for BOTH Gedo and Fathi, latter reveals he's keen on the move: http://www.kingfut.com/2013/01/19/hull-look-to-sign-egypt-duo-gedo-and-fathi/
I have a good feeling about these 2. I like what I see in the videos and their stats look pretty good as well. Both coming on loans would be a very safe option as well.
I'll put my hands up here and might make myself look a right prick. I've never heard of either of them. Are they any good? I'm more interested in this Gedo bloke and what sort of striker he is. Big and physical and good in the air or a short arse who likes it on the deck? We need someone who can play with his back to goal and hold the ball up, ala Steve Morison, lay off the ball and then get his arse in the box to stick the ball in the onion bag. Can this Gedo do that?
I can only go by the videos of Gedo scoring a ton in the africa cup of nations. He didnt look to be a hold up man, but looked like a good finisher which we are lacking as well. My guess is the plan would be him and DJ up front together. There are not as many videos for fathi on youtube. He has played in england before, and according to Apthh here who clearly knows them better than us he is better then Elmo. Elmo and Fathi play the same position.
If t's true that a string of EPL clubs are chasing Gedo that's a good sign for his quality. Also because they're from foreign leagues they won't take up loan spaces. We could be the Egyptian Watford!!
Adam or Aptth, may I ask how is Mohamed Zidan doing nowadays? I saw him play for Egypt against England in 2010 at Wembley and he looked good. Where is he now?
