Hmm.... Neville still thinks he plays for United at times and his opinions are somewhat too biased for me. There's a bit of bite between him and Redknapp chewing the fat over this match today. Redknapp may be ex-Spurs but I think his views are more balanced. Neville is all about United... always.

If you look at the overall decisions in the game, then I think you'll find that Foy was more than fair.
Ferdinand blocked a shot with his arms that was completely ignored by Sky, for a start.

Well done Lawro 1-1 as you thought. Yes,I was pessimistic and we could have won it but so could they. I think I'll just shut up for the rest of the season. I was convinced we wouldn't come back and I was nearly right. Fortunately I was wrong. I felt before the match that as Man U only beat Pool by one goal and WHU by the same score that we'd could get them but going behind depressed me and I shouldn't have let it. Well done Spurs,4 points taken from the top team.

Great point to take, Dempsey got into lots of good positions but his finishing left a little bit to be desired at times, did the job in the end though. Defoe was his usual 'shoot-on-sight' self, possibly could have passed the ball once or twice to create better shooting opportunities for other players but we know what we'll get with Defoe, that's nothing new. RvP and de Gea were the differences between the two sides today but we still pulled through with a well deserved point. We restricted them to 5 shots (Utd's lowest since City away last year) but when RvP is in the team that is more than enough as we well know. Encouraging to do that nonetheless.

I'll stick my neck out and say that we would have lost that under Redknapp. AVB has made us a lot harder to beat and while Harry might have thrown more forward to immediately hit back IMO that would have just left us more open and we would have conceded more, even if we'd pulled one back sooner. As it is we have continued our unbeaten run and we can gain a lot of confidence from that result. If De Gea hadn't made a few excellent (lucky maybe?) saves then we could have had more. As to the penalty, what comes around goes around I guess. In a way Utd not getting the pen and drawing level in added time only makes the point all that more sweet haha.

  12. "It was a clear penalty-kick on Wayne Rooney but in no way was the the linesman going to give that. He gave them everything else. We have not had a good record with this linesman, against Chelsea a few years ago he gave onside to Didier Drogba who was three yards offside, you remember those things."

(Fergie, post-match interview to the BBC)

    <laugh>

Looks like that linesman won't be officiating at OT any time soon!

The reason I say that is that I think there was only one player on either side who would have scored that goal. So, in a way he was the difference. De Gea played well, but the luck all went his way with where his deflections ended up.

  14. Oh, God! I cannot wait to listen to Andy "I love Fergie" Gray and Richard "biggest twat on the face of the planet" Keys, on Monday!

They have got to be the two biggest United-loving scum-bags in the media, and they have written us off time and time again.

Well stick 4 points in your pipes and smoke it, you unprofessionally-biased numpties!

I could've been, 'lulling the opposition into a false sense of security'. <cheers>

Just left a very cold and snowy WHL.
From my seat I didn't think it was a penalty but I only saw it the once.

Lennon and Dempsey played very well and a point is the least we deserved from that.

Also, from what I saw, Chris Foy had yet another ****e day. He must really hate us for some reason.

Fergie still complaining about a Drogba offside from years ago <doh>

One of the first signs of senile dementia, bringing up historic arguments.

Re the "penalty"... if that had been a defender on Bale he would have been booked for diving and the commentators wouldn't stop for the next week saying how they "know" there was contact but it wasn't enough for him to go down.
