I remember a game, might have been against Fulham, Cygan scored 2 headers and came within inches of the hat trick
What about Ian Ure, he used to make almighty cock ups for you, although he might have played on a bit too long.
Talking about David Jenkins (yuk, he sucked!),we actually bought another twit named Laurie Brown That man had a problem standing up let alone playing football! Then our directors ignored Bill Nick and Danny and went and signed Terry Neill as manager.I new what was coming when he turned up driving an open topped Jaguar......he left just before he screwed everything up and we got relegated.
I remember slating Martin Hayes for months and in the group that used to go every week was a friend who always thought Haysey got alot of unfair bad press, he was in a minority of one, then one magical wet November afternoon in 1980 something we were playing Charlton (at Palace) and he picked the ball up on the halfway line took it past 5 and chipped the keeper from 30 yards, I never quite felt comfortable abusing Haysey after that....
I thought Martin Hayes was one of our better players at the time, but Brian Marwood who came after him was a sensation (at the time) Brian . . Brian Marwood, Brian Marwood on the wing
I'm sure Hayes scored over 20 goals for us in his first season.Sadly he turned out to be a one season wonder and was only a bit part player after
My worst XI (From last 25 years): Richard Wright Gavin McGowan Gus Caesar Squillaci Stepanovs Ian Selley David Hillier Glenn Helder Jimmy Carter Chris Kiwomya Francis Jeffers
When we bought Wright he was thought of as a future England international. He was meant to be Seaman's replacement. We didn't really see Wright perform so i think it's a bit unfair to say he was the worst keeper.
I think all the players in this team should be from pre-1990. Given some of the dreadful teams and poor finishes from previous decades, any Arsenal players from the last 20 years are fantastic by comparisson.
