There's so much inaccuracy in this post I don't know where to start. He hasn't been banned, he has been at games recently! He hasn't been badly treated, he just isn't given freebies anymore. Most of the stuff he said about Cortese is unsubstantiable rubbish like "I can't tell you why, but he's just a bad man, ok!" Sometimes I wonder if people ever stop to think before they post stuff like this.
Legend. He has his own opinions like everybody, and to call him a bell end is sacrilege as far as i'm concerned. And anyway, I though the correct insult for this board was 'bell-piece'
I think he's just suspicious of Cortese's interventionist style, which I can understand because it's not a style that I'm particularly keen on either, and the only reason I'm still behind Cortese is that he hasn't steered us wrong yet.
He could call Cortese a **** on live TV and it wouldn't diminish how I feel about him. He could have legitimate reasons to have an axe to grind, as Nigel Adkiins now has and everyone is entitled to an opinion, this is not Stalinist USSR after all.
He's got a responsibility to the club, his words have consequences. If he really cares about the club he should be more careful with what he says. Good grief!
He gave me so much enjoyment as a footballer but sadly that great big chip on his shoulder regarding Nicola is going to lose him many friends amongst us Saints fans.
How on earth can you call him a MORON !!! It was our CHAIRMAN who got ML to invest and buy our club ffs !!!!! If it was not for OUR CHAIRMAN I dread to think where we would be now .....................
He thinks Cortese is a dick. Well, so do I. I mean, he's hardly alone in the woods on that one. He thinks Cortese's will eventually hurt the club. That I'm not as sure about but it's not an unreasonable opinion. He's never stopped rooting for Saints, you can hear on TV how excited he gets when the club win despite his dislike of Cortese. Still a legend to me.
I don't think anyone could say that Matt is anything other than passionate about the club and what exactly are these "consequences"? a few fans may stop going the matches?, well, I think that we are all adult enough to make our own decisions. I respect and am grateful Cortese for saving our club and bringing investment in but there must be some truth in the rumours about how he conducts his business.
Adkins couldn't have got us promoted without Cortese's backing. May not feel like it now, but Cortese has done wonders for Adkins profile. two years of a match made in heaven. Cortese has made a decision and decisions don't always come off, but he would have had reasons valid in his mind. Definitely not a moron and we may be pleasantly surprised. Sometimes you get what you need, not what you want.
Southampton is a club that most neutrals feel some affection towards. Le Tissier is part of that and he's considered an authority on the club. If he is saying negative things about us then people will listen. Someday when you tell people you're a saints fan instead of responding with "oh, I've always like them" they'll say it's a shame how badly run we are now. Even though in truth we're probably better run than ever before. Whatever you think about the idea of 'the Southampton brand', you can't deny that damaging it will not benefit the club.
MLT is still a legend in my eyes and is entitled to any opinion that he wants to make, some of what he says is garbage though, but it is his right to say what he wants, take the good bits, ignor the bad.
And the the percieved unjust sacking of a 'popular' Manager will not affect how neutrals view us?...I remember how other fans were slating us over the dismissal of Dave Jones and this is very similar in my opinion.
It wouldn't affect our popularity half as much if Le Tiss could find it within him to think for a minute about the reasons behind it instead of stirring up controversy.
Sorry, but I have to give a massive "**** YOU" to any man who labels Matty a bellend. You are ****ing dickheads. Simple. I'm willing to bet you are all under twenty-five years old and cannot remember the legend that was Le God. For fifteen years he was the only thing that gave hope and joy to Saints fans. Without him, we would have been nothing. Simple as that. Cortese?? Okay, he rescued us, for that I am grateful, but it was only because he saw a business opportunity. He has admitted before that he would leave for a big Italian club if the offer came along. Under him we have been promoted twice. From League One - so ****ing what?! - anyone could have spent a million on Lambert. That was more or less the deciding factor. Last year it was down to Lambert and Adkins just as much, if not more, than Cortese. Like I said, I'm grateful to him, and I bloody hope he continues to bring us success, but to criticise Le Tiss - a real Southampton legend, and true supporter - because of his heartfelt feelings, what the ****?!! Don't you remember the amount of times Le Tissier could have left us for bigger and better things??!! Did he though?!!! DID HE ****!!!!! You morons. You haven't got a clue.
