It wouldnt suprise me if Di Resta ends up on the side line, either due to other driver investment or the team going by the wayside. To be fair, it would be logical to assume that they are behind on development if they short on funding.

Yeah, at the moment I've got Toro Rosso and Force India down as competing for the dubious honour of being the worst team from pre-2009.

It wouldnt surprise me if Marussia pass them both. (and Caterham)
If I was high or something, i'd say the bottom would be like:

    Marussia
    Force India
    Caterham
    Toro Rosso.

I doubt it will be, but if it is i'll look like a god! <laugh>

German media rumored to be reporting that Adrian Sutil has got the 2nd seat for Force India and Paul is not 100% certain to drive next year.

    http://www.motorsport-total.com/f1/...dia_Wackelt_ploetzlich_di_Resta_13011905.html

Looks like money is going to push Paul out of F1.

"That di Resta bear then another Force India overall is, according to information from 'Motor-Total.com' by no means set in stone. Sutil has signed his grand prix contract for 2013 as well as the British already, but it brings in the past with sponsorship money. If you ever do come to a change of ownership, the investors want alongside Sutil set a financially lucrative pay-driver - and because di Resta itself brings no major sponsorship, he could be thrown out, despite the contract."

Here's hoping that Bianchi and Sutil are the lineup.

If Di Resta loses his seat than that surely means Karma does exist?

If di Resta loses his seat then for all his arrogance it means F1 as a talent-based sport is pretty much dead.

I agree in principle that F1's pay structure (At all levels from Alonso with Santander to Russian oil money Petrov) is disheartning, but dont think Paul's talent is enough to warant a guarnteed drive in a competitive car or F1 for that matter - IMO.

Yes, as much as people on this forum like to mock him, he's a solid if unspectacular driver. Certainly doesn't deserve to lose his seat because he doesn't have sponsorship (same as would go for Kobayashi)

Well, they all clearly have talent, but I just don't see how he's good enough. To me he should be in a backmarker team or out. He got thrashed by Sutil and when Hulk got back into his groove he got thrashed again. I like Sutil but he's no better than just over average and lost to Fisichella and Hulk got beat by an old man.
I think Kobayashi is good enough to be in the FI instead of Paul, but that won't ever happen! :(

di Resta has a disproportionately poor reputation on this forum, exacerbated by the numerous 'di Resta' usernames. This may have been a lot of fun; but it developed into a general dismissal through peer-reinforced bias. (A bit like a gang developing a collective mentality which diminishes the responsibility of its individual members).

    In my opinion,
    TomTom94 is quite right.

He's an average driver, just middle of the pack. He's not the best, but not the worst. He doesn't have the tools to be a champion, and he's not young enough to make serious progress. He's basically a slightly inferior Adrian Sutil.

You're right about him being solid, but whats the point of keeping a decent driver when you could have a potential world champion in Bianchi? A rookie is a risk, but if you have an experienced driver as his teammate it's a risk worth taking imo. Sutil and Di Resta are both experienced, but Sutil proved himself to be the better driver in 2011. Even without money I see both as better options than Di Resta.
