hi. if you were the manager .which players would yous be looking to offload .


say if we stay in the prem and look to bring in new players .heres mine in order and why.




mike willamson. just feel hes to slow can get clumsy and out of his depth.


g obertan . not good enough ,good pace but lacks just that killer move , ball and a confidence player which you dont want. with our situation at times.



s ameobi lazy foolish selfish time to go shola or maybe cage him until the mackem match lol.


jonas . bought as an attacking player but now dosent want to attack been a good servant but hes getting older and we really need young attacking dont give a **** attitude.


sammy ameobi maybe loan just aint ready . not impressed i hope im wrong but cany see him making it.


nile ranger umm bedlington terriers handled him no probs so why should he terrify the prem teams.



please dont take offence just my view .. we need a big change around ..

i know we need players but going nowhere forward with this lot best of luck.

 

Agree with all of those. The only problem is while we'd reduce the wage bill, we'd do we'll to get more than £5m for that lot combined.

It's not the dross that are in the squad - it's Pardew's decisions to play these players. Ameobi on the wing? Eh? Jonas an extra defender? He was bought as a winger, but those days seem long gone ....

 

Wouldn't be a smart move imo, your squad is paper thin as it is and getting rid of those would require you to bring in around 13 players, speaking from experience (good ol' Bruce) that just leaves your squad amazingly average.

Your squad needs to be changed over time, which is something your board appreciates I imagine, with pardews 8yr contract

 

Sammy Ameobi, Tarvernier, Mehdi Abeid and shane Ferguson need to go out on loan. Nile Ranger should be offloaded. I think we should keep Willo and Jonas as cover.

 

You forgot to add Pardew to your list

 

mind im very suprised how we dont produce better younger players i must admit.

 

Sammy and Ranger are the only ones that need to leave the club.

As the poster above mentioned, if we decimated our paper-thin squad even further, then we'd have the u19s on the bench.

Nobody wants these players, let alone us. If you had any takers they would be down the divisions and they can't afford to tempt these guys away from decent contracts at NUFC.

Do you think Ranger, Shola, Willo etc would still be part of the squad if anyone really wanted them?

The problem is precisely that we have a thin squad but also one that is worryingly slim on quality. We're banking on having our first choice eleven back and 100% fit in EVERY position to start winning games again.

Those players brought in for the development squad have been poor and the injuries have demanded them step up, possibly too early – OR we've learned they aren't up to it at all.

 

well better judgement on players is needed . and investment .. from the owner.

i tell you what though its a bad sign when youngsters arnt coming through.. or showing some sort of ability.

At present Mr Santon would get no where near my team. He is a walking disaster defensively, I'm losing count now. The number of times he gets caught up field or is out of position is frightening. Costing us goals every week. I wouldn't flog him though.

I'd flog no one. We don't have that luxury.

If they were guaranteed to be replaced I'd flog Williamson, Gosling, Xisco, Ranger

ha ha , he reminds me of a newly born gazelle..but only bigger. he just looks very ungraceful when he runs..

 

anyway what pains me is players , local players ,past present that get away then turn out to be decent players ..then you look at players coming through or supose to .. and they arnt good enough ..

alright if mr ashley does invest in us ..thats great ..to pass on and look up to great player s ( if ) but you have to have youngsters knocking on the door ..

 

The gulf of class between of first 11 and second 11 is what worries me. Last season we had the likes of Guthrie, Best, Raylor who can perform at the top level. This season we have The likes of Sammy and Ranger on the bench.
Top teams have a squad big enough to put 2 premiership quality teams out. Top half teams have 5-6 quality squad players as replacements.

Players out are Xisco, Ranger, Willo, Obertan and Simmo. I rate him but he wants out. Obvs we need to replace 3 of these with decent squad players.

Abeid, Sammy, Vuckic, Tav need loan spells or time in the reserves, not on the bench.

 

No! We should not be this thin. I think a season or two on loan is needed but I have to be honest and say I doubt he'll ever be good enough.
