I'd take Mickey Mouse as manager right now. At least it would be fun to watch.

Yes and the transfer window isn't closed yet. And Cabaye came back just in time to remind people of his skills and how much he stands out in our team.

Saw a few new Colo wigs at the game today. Would love to see him stay.

Well worth a watch... Jordan, a tosser who constantly slags us off for one reason or another, says we're "dear to his heart"... Yeah ok Si... Anyway, he says despite the 8 year contract, Pardew will be one of the first sacked because of fan expectation. So, how do we reflect on that? Is he correct?

    Sacked thus far:
    RDM - November
    Hughes - November
    Adkins - January

If Pardew is sacked, I think the status of "one of the first sacked" is incorrect. It'd be one of the last sackings if we equate this season statistically with others.

So, how about fan expectation? We've been knocked out of the cups, played horribly in the league since the start, and are currently not only relegation threatened, but are now one of the favourites to go down. Is the humble fan allowed to "expect" better than that?

The fact is, all over the internet right now it appears fans are overwhelmingly dissatisfied with Pardew's performance this year and would like a change in direction. Not until this point in time (straight after a loss to relegation rivals, at home, from 1-0 up with 20 minutes left) has it occurred that the "nays" have comprehensively had it. Are we fickle? We're past half way in the league. We've played the hard teams (mostly once), and we're Ben Arfa, Tiote and Saylor away from having our best 11 out on the field. Are they the "key" three? Are they the best players at the club and the others are ****?

How much longer do we have to suffer ineptitude before we're no longer fickle? A few years? What is the elusive figure that will keep the "deluded Geordies" tag away? What is stability? Is it being at a consistently crap level playing consistently crap football? Is there a legitimate case for saying his reign can become a success from this point and this is just a blip?

I would really like to know the subjective answers to these questions, from fans of our club (people who support and don't support Pardew) and fans of others. These are questions we should really be talking about in the wake of the defeat, I feel.

Personally, I think we've been patient with Pardew. I think the praise and criticism has been bipolar, but so have his f***ing results. The first pundit in the video claims Newcastle was a difficult job, when CH was sacked... Is that the case? CH had built a positive atmosphere and had us playing pretty decent football. It was certainly utilizing route 1 from time to time (we had Carroll, big f-ing difference with Cisse and Ameobi, why are we still doing it? <doh>) but was fluent thereafter. The second claim is that he took us to another level? Well he certainly was given better players, and got us to 5th in the league. Were we playing well? No. Better than the season with CH? Big no. Pardew had more match-winners, but the football was substantially poorer, hence we haven't humped a team since he took over. Under Hughton we had several big wins. Now where are we? He's got a potentially divided dressing room (Santon/Jonas, Colo wanting to piss off and having a go at Pardew)... Was that happening under Chris? Wow... Sure as hell Pardew is f***ing Jesus of Nazareth walking on ****e... Chris was the one with the positive changing room. The fight that Pardew inherited has gone. We can barely muster a fart when we go behind these days, less a point or three!!!

Pardew's run is not just awful, but one of the worst of any Newcastle manager EVER! I think it's perfectly fair we're a little pissed off at it.

The crowd gave up just as much as the players did today in my opinion, and that's not good. But we've seen so little fight, so little spirit, so little attacking ability, is it really a surprise anymore that we're shell-shocked? I tried to start a chant, sensing the team was in a dire situation but the silence echoed louder. Supporters, I believe, need to be thrown a bone. It's a two way street. They inspire us, we inspire them. Has always been thus, and that second half performance was so utterly mortifying we've been bereft of voice. "Grim inevitability" is the phrase of the day, or should I say season?

I retain admiration for those who back Pardew. I hope in 8 years time you can post a thread on here saying "so and so said Pardew, world's greatest boss, was ****e... Look at us now, you plastic tosser". I gave up vocally backing Pardew a number of weeks ago, but had always supported him as manager. There should be no other way. Unfortunately I've succumbed to the hopelessness of the situation and find it difficult to muster up any favourable sentiment with regards his future employment. At the same time, I beg of people not to jump off with "cockney bastard" et al. He's come and tried his best and risen the wave. Last season was a high, there's no denying, even if the performances weren't all I'd hoped. So thanks for that Alan.

As his manager I'd have asked him. To go down when the ball went out. This would've stopped the crowd getting on pardew's back as the fans had no idea that he was injured as he just walked off the pitch! But what do I know, I only coach an under 8 side

The thing which annoys me is when people act like we should be happy and thankful all the time for what we have... Rather than voicing our displeasure.
These pricks need to remove their heads from their arses and smell the coffee.

Only if it includes an 8 year contract. I am a DMB but I would try my hardest to keep you in the division as I love derby days. (I'd also get shot of that ranger)

Time to go, trouble is who would Ashley get to replace him? And which reputable manager would want to work with Fat Mike?

If a player is afraid of injuring himself further when he feels something tight, what is the natural and smart thing to do? Obviously its to stop sprinting or jogging and walk off the field without having any chance to aggravate it. Not only did I see Cabaye jog off and not walk off, he looked displeased and did not indicate to the crowd that he was leaving because of an injury. In other situations players would normally walk off slowly or wince a bit and hold some part of their body to at least let everybody know this. Obviously I'm not saying that there's a rule to do this but players would at least show that much.

I was all for keeping Pardew but i think yesterday like many others it was the last straw. Was just saying in the bar before the game how the fans have stuck with him and how it is pissing the press off.
But yesterday was one of the lowest points in recent times.Reading were 2nd bottom with the worst away record in the epl, never won at StJame's in there history. We are one nil up at home and he takes off our attacking midfielder Marv and tries to defend that lead against the mighty Reading. He was a total utter disgrace but the sad thing about it all you could see it coming!
I don't know who you get to replace him but fat bot and owl heed will keep him even when we go down!
    Dark times ahead(again)

I was thinking pretty much the same thing myself when Pardew explained he had subbed Cabaye at his request because of injury. Cabaye did not look injured to me and l agree with the observations of the above poster. Also just prior to the substitution, Cabaye attempted a sort of half volley cum scissor kick shot on goal, very acrobatic and not the sort of thing you do when your groin is hurting.
