Ramirez remarked that Guly, Fonte and Gazza translate for him so they must speak Spanish. We also have a Spanish technical coach. Interestingly, Fonte's brother Rui has also played for Poch at Espanyol.

I can't see a player revolt, although he may upset a few players if he starts dicking around with a system that is now working quite well. I read somewhere that he is very attacking and likes passing football so hopefully we will still play 'the southampton way'.
I'm upset that Adkins is no longer with us on the journey. Still feel we will stay up and push on next season though. Think we will read a similar story that was published about pardew over a year ago "southamptons loss is ________'s gain". Hope he goes to another prem club (after a long holiday) and does well. Sorry for the Pardew comparisson (I do not feel the 2 are alike in any way) but can see him doing well with another club with a more patient chairman.

As all the backroom staff are being replaced with MPs team, i think it would be safe to presume that there will be English speaking members amongst them, if not trainings gonna be fun!

A patient Chairman can also be an unambitious Chairman. Nigel could find himself a job at a club who are happy midtable, but I suspect he will want a club that he can get into the PL. Not sure he will get a PL club immediately, unless a promoted club offer him a job next season. We should remember that any job means someone else got sacked...this is what football management means. The day you take the job is one day nearer to the sack.

I can't see a player revolt. However a few of the players, including Rickie Lambert are apparently absolutely mortified.

The player's are professional. MP might not get some of them playing to the same standard, but I can't see any of them walking into Cortese's office tomorrow and putting in transfer requests etc.

That said however, if things go a bit rocky between now and the summer (but we still survive) I wouldn't be totally shocked if the likes of Lambert, Cork and Morgan start looking elsewhere.

Is rationality emerging again after 24 hours of angst, anger and downright disbelief? Like all of us on here, I hope Nigel is successful at another club. If Leeds get fed up with the abrasive Warnock, I can see Nigel being the man to lead them back to the promised land. Being a clever man he might want to widen his experience and perhaps manage in the Bundesliga, Dutch or Scandinavian leagues and then come back even better or more prepared than ever to be a success.

He can actually talk English, just very little. He can understand a lot of English as well.

Or a patient Chairman can be very wise, in today's society when everything is demanded quickly sometimes exercising caution pays dividends: obviously the best example is Sir Alex Fergusson, however teams like Everton that have stability have prospered whereas you compare it with the Liverpool manager merry-go-round then it is clear that haste can lead to inconsistency.

Can I buy some of this blind glory from you lot, because I'm still thinking we are screwed. Now, I know we are not going to go out of business, but there is still a rather dodgy path to follow. Our new gaffer who can't speak much English is going to alienate the press, a fair few players, lose (lost, no too soon) lose the dressing room, encourage a few random signings who probably won't settle......purely a guess as this whole situation (gamble) looks pretty short lived to me. The only man I see being happy about this is the ref, who'll probably stitch us up with a couple dubious decisions on Monday & be able to ignore the the guy screaming things at him from the side lines because he is not making any sense, & looks like a child lost.
I hope you all positive followers are going to be picking up our spirits next season, but somehow I doubt it.

Jan Poortvliet anyone? I'm going to give the new guy a chance. I'm very sad Nigel has gone, and I think its the wrong decision but I am for sure giving the new guy a few games before making any judgements.

Manic street saint, now theres a name from some time past. Were times easier then or were we just easier going? That question would have appeared absurd just three short days ago.

Sunday Supplement have just been talking about Newcastle, and the negative effect of the Newcastle crowd on some of their players. I think we all know a similar situation is happening at Chelsea too (just compare their home form to their away form under Rafa).

Player-wise therefore, it's this that worries me more than any potential revolt. Take Puncheon for example. For me he's been our player of the season so far, but I can absolutely see him falling apart under a negative atmosphere created by the fans. I think he needs to be loved and needs postivie vibes to perform. And I wouldn't be surprised if one or two others fall into this catergory too.

Or maybe I'm just talking out of my backside!

And immediately following on from this, Alex Crook's tweets following his conversation with Kelvin make interesting reading.

(I wont bother posting them up here as I'm sure DTLW will already have done so somewhere on this board by the time I have hit reply on this post  )
