Forsyth was left wing back I presume, given that Pudil was out and Cassetti, Doyley, Nosworthy and Ekstrand all played.
" This team is good enough to get into the EPL and stay there". D. Payne. Totally unbiased of course.
Only Manchester United and port Vale have scored more than Watford this season in the Football League. Watford have 53 goals, while Man U and port Vale both have 56 goals.
We've got two games before any of the top six play again. The results of those matches will decide what we're playing for in the rest of the season, without a doubt.
After a slow start probably trying to get used to the conditions we really did play well dominating throughout and the wonderful team goal was just the icing on the cake. Battochio was very impressive and Forsyth fitted in very well. Have to sign up Vydra - him and Deeney are a wonderful partnership.
We started off very well and created a couple of good chances via what the commentators now call our "trade mark" tactic--the swift counter-attack. Deeney missed the best of these chances. Then the game went into a "non" period due to a spate of injuries and a tendency for both sides to give the ball away. The penalty was a correct decision (should there have been one earlier when they cleared off the line?) and changed the game. We settled down and really played as a team for the second half, and when so many talented individuals blend as a team the result is inevitable. Three excellent goals --numbers two and three much as we have come to expect from Vydra, but number four not like any I have seen before at the Vic. Perhaps I had been time warped to the Nou Camp---but then there would not be snow on the ground, would there? The ball played through the team, two deft flicks from Forestieri and a sublime finish. The standard has now been set. Can we possibly live up to it.....?
Great game, particularly in the second half. Battochio was very good again and Eustace was excellent when he came on. Our 4th goal was stunning and has to be seen on the tv tonight - it was bloody freezing though
From Simon Grayson. “You can see how technically good they are but we certainly felt sorry for ourselves and that was reflected in us getting done four, rather than maybe one or two.” Grayson though, was full of praise for the quality of the Hornets’ fourth goal, adding “Watford certainly got into their stride and I suppose if anybody watches the fourth goal they’ll see what a great goal it was. If that was in the Premiership, it would be applauded by a lot of people.”
Was an awesome game, hadn't been to the Vic in ages too. Bloody cold though Was impressed with all the players on the pitch today, apart from maybe Abdi who had a quiet afternoon. Vydra was just too good for them, and after seeing the performance today, I can't see many teams in this division that we should be afraid of...
Glad you made it Toby and what a choice of games to watch. Hoping to get across myself next month to get another game.
Was chatting to my uncle earlier about which game to go see next. We've got quite an easy run for the next few games, might have to wait til the Blackpool game. I bet you're bloody cold over there OFH, I don't miss French winters
Not that cold Toby, but snow forecast overnight. My monthly dinner date should be tomorrow, but too much of the white stuff and I stay in.
What with the comments about Vydra's goal at Brighton and now this maybe, just maybe, some people might shut up about long balls........
wow couldnt believe how dirty the terriers were ,bunch of cloggers got their just deserts, well lucky not to have Vaughan sent off!
Spot on Norway - we are seeing a lot of very late challenges that refs are not seeing as they are following the ball. A couple of times they carries through after the ball had gone and took our player out. You doing ok?
Yep just about recovered from my dose of the ethihad flu ,sorted out family probs ,(wasted as a mechanic,,should be a diplomat for the UN) Looking forwd to derby game and hopefully Blackpool game too. So good to see us play football these days. as games I saw last season were hard on the eye.
