http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...lans-Brazil-midfielder-Philippe-Coutinho.html Edit: just noticed this is old news that's what happens when you spend an evening in the pub these days...fall way behind the times....modern life is rubbish
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...verpool-need-to-add-experience-to-their-ranks Bluff had already mentioned this but thought I'd post the actual link. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Reds' owners, Fenway Sports Group, have placed plenty of emphasis on the acquisition of young talent since sweeping into the Anfield boardroom. Keeping one eye on the future is no bad thing, providing the present is also catered for. Senior stars such as Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez have queried of late as to whether that has been the case and Rodgers admits the pair have a point, with it important to find the right mix of youth and experience. He said: 'I have got a terrific relationship with the guys there (FSG). "I will always do in my role what I think is best for the team and club. That is all I can do. It's not my money and not my club. I'm here to manage the group and, hopefully, we will get the players in to take us forward. "I have got no complaints with the owners. They allow me to work and work well. If you ask any manager, they will always look for a young player that they can develop. But there are certain times when you need that experience. "Look at (Robin) van Persie as the example. If you bring him in at 29, there is absolutely no question that he reinvigorates Ryan Giggs, Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes. He also gives the young players something too. "If we bring in an experienced player of the right quality, there would be no question of Steven Gerrard getting a boost from it; Luis Suarez, Daniel Agger and the young players would feed off it. That is the importance. If you are going to be up there fighting for titles, you need the right blend." Invest "We have got money that can be reinvested back into the team." Brendan Rodgers Quotes of the week Rodgers has been linked with an approach for Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder, a man with UEFA Champions League and international experience aplenty, and he admits there is money to spend. He added: "We have got money that can be reinvested back into the team. "We are just looking for the right players who fit the profile we want. It is going to take time. But I will certainly always say what I feel is right for the team."
This is all confusing now, Sneijder doesn't fit our policy and we don't have much money, to we have money and need quality experience.
I suspect Rodgers wants some thing (experience) and the owners say no. I'm on Rodgers side. This policy is good in the long run but it wont get us any where unless we build the first team first.
There's no secret that we are playing hardball on transfers in order to change agent/player expectations when LFC come calling...and rightly so......I suspect this is all part of the game
i'd rather all of our clubs's staff... warner, ayre, rodgers would hold ONE consistent line. they all contradict each toher and rodgers contradicts himself every other day. its all amateur hour rubbihs guys... if you are in for someone with real balls and not chear skate dealing then you don't need the mouth. If sneidjer wants 240k per week and we can offer say 120k or parity with gerrard at least then there's no point in mouthing is HALF what he wants and 60-70% of what any other serious bidder like even city would offer. right now the whole club is twisted up in a disorganised shambolic press based spat..... we were reasonably consistent (bar rodgers) before christmas and we did do business arely as said. since then its totally run amok with wild rumours and half basked responses. Theses guys simply don't sit down and talk do they... i'd say once per month max... and frankly its no bette rthan under moores and parry... amateur hour playing with millions of our money we pay in to get a show.
See Wilson has gone back to Scotland on loan - can't see him being here after the summer. Hopefully he does well up there and can make a few million for him.
Cabaye back for Newcastle - scored from a free kick. I'd love him at Liverpool next year. He's like a more attackig Alonso, passing is awesome and free kicks are worth £10mil alone
BR asked about Sneijder in presser, reply " No Comment".....................................................
Rumour is Apparently Werner was asked about Sneijder by a fan today, to which he replied " working on it"
And he loves it. I actually think he deals with the press pretty well. Much better than Dalglish. His post match interviews are identical after every game.
