I know that one swalow doesn't make a summer, but I have decided that our win last night was the 3 points we needed to keep us up. Why? Well here are my predictions fro the remaining games, which are totally realistic. Spuds H 1 point W Ham A 1 Man C H 0 Norwich H 3 Swans A 1 Man Ure H 0 S'ton A 1 S'land H 3 AV A 3 Foolham A 3 wigan H 3 Everton A 0 Stoke H 3 Reading A 3 Ars H 1 Newc H 3 L'pool A 0 Total 29+13=42 So last night's magical win took us over the target of 40! Anyone disagree? U RRRRSSSS
What last night showed was that there's no point trying to predict results imo. Important to keep our feet on the ground as far as the possibility of relegation is concerned.
You gotta calm down Israel . A few days ago you had us relegated and going out of business in a few years...today we are staying up. Lets just take one step at a time ( but last night WAS a bloody big step )
To me it is all about confidence. Lots of 'bad luck' broken in just a few days. 1st win of the season, 1st away win for ages, SWP breaks his duck (barring the disallowed goal that should have stood), beating Chelsea at the Bridge since the dark ages etc etc. We need that confidence for a little run of good home form with the occasional away point or win. I suspect we will still end up needing other teams to slip up too. Make no mistake however. If we survive, it will still be the greatest escape ever!
Those results look realistic. Add the fact that 38 will be more than enough for safety, you can even afford a few dropped points from that list. I agree. QPR are staying up.
That is a fairly realistic view there. But as has been said I dont think 40 is the benchmark this season. More like low-mid thirties which gives room for a couple of extra losses in that list.
Every team will be busting a gut to stay up, Reading showed today that no-one will lie down or be written off. 38 has to be the target and that won't be easy...
There's a run there towards the end where you have us winning 6 out of 7 games, Israel mate. It would be great but alas its highly unlikely.
Very true mate. Last year I had Wigan dead and buried and they went on to have a better run in than Manchester United! Israel, carry on son!
I hope this turns out to be one of those uncanny threads that we refer back to at the end of the season and all go '' Wow! ''
Don't start your nonsense now Staines. We already have a load of guys talking tripe on the other threads!
7 wins out of our last 10 games. Dreamland. 0 points against City, hope not, my first league game of the season.
