Not beating Newcastle last week was bad, put into perspective by Reading's performance today. I think we've lost our attacking mojo big-time, especially at home. They really need our support to be strong for the run-in! Not surprised at today's score given Bassong was missing.
I wondered how long it would take for someone to say that about bassong. Open your eyes, we didnt ship those goals because bassong was not there, we shipped goals because we are not functioning as an effective team. There are problems in the line up, players and confidence. Also, for the first time i am starting to question hughton in my head.
Kemp, I'm following the game with my ears, eyes this evening if I can bear it. Not disagreeing with your point about effectiveness of the team, and we probably still would have lost, however Bassong is undoubtedly a miss because of his ability, physical presence and organisation of the back-four (likewise Ruddy actually, or were you just waiting for someone to say that too?)
Sorry ware, its just we are so lost as a team right now. No spirit or fightback. I thought that this formation was meant 2 make us more solid at the back at the expense of scoring less goals? Look at us, go down 5 nil and no fight back? Or change in formation. We are getting humped and have no way of responding due to the formation and only having 1 up top. Come on hughton, sort it out.

In answer to the original question, perhaps not. And if we go down I don't want to go down trying to draw every game 0-0. At least let's go down with a bit of fight and some courage.
3 points from 1st 7 games yeah? Since our unbeaten run ended weve basically played the same team's and look no better than those 1st 7. Our run consisted of the teams were playing after spurs and koo pee arrrr. Plenty of time to pick up 10-15 points. And yes there are 3 worst sides than us, probably more.
Well said Beef; God sake we are 13th on the PL get real wake up we are in the PL you are up against the very best every week , every now and then when you have not got your best side out you get a spanking!
Its not every now and then though, thats the point, when we are without Bassong we get smashed everytime (as mentioned on another article).
Bassong is a top clad PL player and by far our best CB sure we miss his calmness and organisation maybe we need another more than a striker or am I now being negative
Jarrold, i think a striker is more a priority than a CB. Its not every week we come up against Suarez and Gerrard and those 2 in particular were top drawer today. Our team and squad is at the level where we should be, a mid table side. It will take time to get every component of the side spot on, but i think were in the best possible position bar another top striker It was only a month or 2 ago we were saying this was the best city side maybe ever! That still is the same side, confidence is low but i believe we do have enough to get it back and get the points to keep us up!
