Well played swansea, excellent football in the 2nd half. JDG looks very good right now. Davies has to be young player of the season! Fantastic goal. Ki played well. All in all, very happy Jack!
Some real good performances today, we definitely went up a gear. Well deserved win shame about letting one in late on.
Didn't someone say that Michael had the wrong side out against Arsenal -3 more points for us and a confidence booster for the Chelsea game!
Really enjoyed that game. Surprised that Michu missed that chance in the first half though! Great to see our Ben getting a goal and I think JDG should get MOTM although amazingly Ki had a really good game too. That lay off for JDG's second goal by Danny was class. Hope the lad stays with us. 8th in the Premier leauge on 33 points... I couldn't be more pleased
superb 2nd half performance and 3 excellent goals - thoroughly deserved. Routledge MOTM for me but so pleased for Ben Davies, who would have thought hed step up to the mark the way he has - who will fill that position when Taylor is fit? teams like Stoke are always tough for us so im delighted with that - bring on Chelsea!
Think we had a few contenders for MOTM. One thing Gary Monk must have loved this one, easiest game he would ever have played.
doh, dam alarm clock......woke up to late and it seems from here that it was a great game to watch. well done to the lads. what was lamah like?
Yes Gary Monk was solid today as he has been the majority of times hes filled in this season - also Ki and JDG were awesome - good performance all round!
Routs man of the match for me, JDG very close. im so glad for the team though,Michu had a mare but it didnt matter, in fact sometimes i feel we play through him too much . Michu is keeping his powder dry for chelsea hopefully. 2 players that Laudrup has spotted this season and not one of them is from La lIGA 1, Wayne Routledge 2, Ben Davies He has done wonders with those two players and while i was one who felt davies needed time out ,laudrup decided to play him through his mistakes and in fairness he progressed fantastic as a result! Laudrup obviously saw something in him early on and has been patient with him,now it looks like we are seeing the reward of Laudrups patience!! Routledge is just like a brand new player,in fairness he was the same last season but shafted by rodgers IMO its good to see Laudrup have faith in this player and when you give them that beleif they can do wonderful things..as wayne is proving. A good game and takes us onto Chelsea with a boost.
He was a bit tentative and didn't try anything ambitious. Totally understandable as he beds in. All in all a great performance by the lads. Stoke never asked any questions but were never allowed to until that late goal when Owen, of all people, was given the freedom of the park to glance in. Shame because Stoke didn't deserve even one goal and 3-0 seems so much more decisive than 3-1 and would have been far more reflective of the game. Congratulations to young Ben on a solid performance and a goal of genuine excellence. I would imagine that Taylor is getting concerned about his spot, which will be well and truly up for grabs when he returns. Ki had a very good game as well, as he tends to when we are on top. We know the guy is good when we are attacking, it's his defensive game that needs a damned good shake up. But no complaints today, he did well. Routs was buzzing and troubled the Stoke defence all afternoon and JdG capped a decent performance with two fabulous goals. It's funny really. There was I thinking, as he lined up the free kick, it's about time he started justifying his dead ball reputation because we've not seen that much so far. Then up he steps and rams my thoughts straight back where they came from. Good for him!! His second was well taken too and what a superb set up from Danny. I'm really pleased the crowd showed their support for him. He deserves it. Mind you, I think that game left Kenwyne Jones in no doubt about which team will create the most chances for him. Didn't have the chance to show it today but he's a very decent player with good control for a big man. As for the defence, apart from that unfortunate aberration at the end which robbed Vorm of a clean sheet, they were excellent and Monk did another sterling job alongside Ash and the full backs. Anyway, nice to see that we haven't forgotten our attacking game but I still have one carp. We showed a little too much arrogance in possession when the game was safe and a few sloppy passes crept in. A better side than Stoke would have punished those mistakes. Not to worry. Overall the lads were great and 4-0 wouldn't have flattered them. Great performance and well done. Now go and do the same to Chelsea because we are capable of it.
cheers ivor, pleased to hear about ki, not so long ago i was scared everytime he passed it backwards as it seemed he never put enough into the pass, but he has really started to grow both on the ball and off it. As for taylor its certainly going to take a fair bit for him to get back into the team above young ben.
Congratulations on the three points Jacks. Was a great game to watch. JDG and Routledge were brilliant this afternoon. But I still can't think of a reason why Ki is getting this much playtime. He is sloppy, poor first touch and he can't create any action. IMO he's the weak link in the team. Davies and Williams were solid and Rangel is really playing his best season for the Swans. MOTM: JDG, not solely pinned on his goals, his passing was brilliant and he created a lot of chances for Michu who didn't have the best match of his career.
Stoke had no answer to our game today, and looked hopelessly lost for large periods of the game, and I'm very pleased for Ben Davies, getting his first Premiership goal, he had his best game so far this season, and was my MOTM, well done Ben. Thought that Ki De Guzman and Routlidge were excellent too. Today's result keeps the pressure on the Scousers, who I'm sure we will finish above, Laudrup deserves that, as he's in an altogether different class to Brenda! Great result.............
On related news. By the looks of it West Bromwich is losing to Villa that means that Swansea keeps their 8th place for now.
