Leicester won one nil last night. We were winning one nil. Defence and midfield needed to control it. We were comfortable until Brucey took Simmo off. Game changed right there.
FT 1-1 Sorry to say it lads but without Elmo we don't make chances. SB needs to go and do whatever is needed to get him back here.
We'll show over the season whether we deserve to go up rather than on one game. The Championship is a notoriously close and unpredictable league with no easy games. Still, we really need to become much more sharper up front and quickly.
That's all league games in January played, no wins, scored one goal (and one own goal) whilst playing two out of the bottom three. If December was a good month, then January has certainly balanced things out!
Hopefully by the time we go to Millwall we'll have Elmo (or a suitable replacement) and at least another striker. We've stuttered a bit these last couple of games but let's not lose hope for the season.
They haven't looked a bad side, but we haven't looked spectacular by any stretch. Something has changed in our side, because the side that went unbeaten in December looks to have faded a lot. Proschwitz has been a bit unlucky, some crap balls in today but he did get some shots in and looked lively. McShane decent, Chester made the mistake for the penalty but it was a soft decision, if it was a City player going down we wouldn't have got it. All in all a point away from home is better than sod all, but if we miss out on promotion it'll be these games we look back on and think we should have won. That's 5 points dropped against Peterborough and 3 against Sheffield Wednesday. That would have put us top of the league. We need to be putting these games to bed.
They did in a sense. We were undefeated at the KC until they played us, and we had won every game in which we'd scored first until they played us. Fair to say they've done us this season.
After we went 1-0 up they were there for the taking, but we don't seem to have a ruthless streak and the longer it went the more confidence they got. Unfortunately the final score was no surprise. We need at least one 'hungry' striker.
To be fair Leicester won it due to their attack, at 1-0 they took the game to Boro and didn't let them have a chance. They didn't go defensive, they should have had 3/4. They also get very lucky that their penalty against them was saved.
I agree we need a forward but no matter how the goal was scored we were winning and were very comfortable until SB changed the team. Fergie countered and McCann dominated the game after that. Lost where most games are lost in the midfield.
