Got to disagree, Hooper is not worth 10 million and no way we should pay it if thats what they are asking. Often people seem to justify these amounts by saying "oh but he is better than so n so and he went for 15 million". This is not how it works, there are many other factors and just because Liverpool pay stupid money on average players does not mean everyone should ;)

a couple goals in th CL doesnt justify doubling of price, this is how teams get in such a financial mess...

I disagree that hooper isnt worth 10m. I think that he can contribute to us staying up this season (which is still our main aim this year) by adding goals. If we spend 15m on hooper and graham and they get 15 goals or so between them (a slight exaggeration I know) and we stay up, they would be worth every penny. Now I know qpr have spent loads and not got anywhere but we are looking at two very good players who would more than likely make a huge difference in terms of us staying up. Think about morusob and jackson, with them as back up we have got to where we are now! Imagine if we had Holt, Graham and Hooper! That is some strike force! The latter are far superior to jackson and morison so who knows where we might finish but I think it would probably be safe to say we would survive! The money we would get for staying up would certainly justify spending a little over the odds. Im not just saying all this, I genuinely believe that with the extra quality these players would bring, we would be safe.

I thought it was meant to be a play on words to reflect his position in the current pecking order - Morisub <ok>

Hooper is valued at 4.4m on transfermarkt and you can expect a player on a long contract at a club that don't want to sell to go for 2-3 times that value. Can be as much as 4 times if the club are desperate to get them. Hooper hasn't got a long cpntract, but it is still 18 months. Ee have the added advantage thay he apparently wants to leave. I would be happy for the club to pay up to 9m for him and I'd say we jhaven't got a bargain, just a fair price. I think people aren't being realistic about this player's quality. He's proven and while it might not be the buy of century, we will be uvery unlucky if he fails. We're not in a position to take big money risks on some juan pablo with a silky touch. We need a safe bet, but of good quality and Hooper or Graham are exactly that.

If we paid £10m for Gary Hooper I would burn my shirt and probably burn down David McNally's house

fortunately for everyone he's a cautious bloke

It did seem a bit suspicious as it was a quoted tweet not a direct tweet.

Absolute rubbish I'm afraid, we have solid reliable professionals, you can't move for them at Carrow Rd, why do we need anymore.

What we don't have is a "Juan Pablo with silky touch", or very good possesion statistics.

No-one is going to be dumb enough to spend 9-10 million on Hooper, there are just hundreds of better players out there for that sort of money.

After witnessing today's pathetic tactics and performance I wouldn't trust Hughton to spend one penny let alone £10M !

Does anyone think Vydia of watford could do a job for us?
Admittedly, I've only seen him on the Football league show, but he is regularly finding the net, and Watford are having a fairly decent season so far.
Two more golas today for him as well. Could he be worth a look at and a shout?
