Instead of taking on Michael Appleton last week we now take him on at his third club of the season, Blackburn Rovers. The game is at Ewood Park and as usual is a Saturday 3 o'clock kick off. Last weekend on our return to league action we were able to overcome Blackpool 2-1 with goals from Jackson and Wagstaff. Blackburn played Wolves in the Friday night game of that week and were help 1-1 Rhodes scored with a penalty for Blackburn. When we played Blackburn earlier in the season we drew 1-1 at the Valley. Rovers took the lead through a Dickson Etuhu strike and after missing a penalty Johnnie Jackson made amends by nodding home a header from a Danny Hollands cross.

    Blackburn Rover's Home Form W6 D1 L5 F14 A14 PTS19

    Charlton Athetic's Away Form W5 D4 L4 F17 A16 PTS17

    Previous Meetings

29.09.2012 Charlton Athletic 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

05.12.2006 Charlton Athletic 1-0 Blackburn Rovers
29.04.2006 Charlton Athletic 0-2 Blackburn Rovers
05.11.2005 Blackburn Rovers 4-1 Charlton Athletic

    Top Three Goalscorers-

    Charlton Athletic - Blackburn Rovers
    6 Jackson - 14 Rhodes
    5 Haynes - 5 Rochina
    5 Kermorgant - 4 Nuno Gomes

    Team to play Blackburn Rovers

    Hamer

    Solly Dervite Morrison Evina

    Wilson Pritchard Stephens Jackson

    Wright-Phillips Kermorgant

    Subs
    Sullivan
    Wiggins
    Green
    Kerkar
    Wagstaff
    Fuller
    Harriot

We have been good on the road this season and Blackburn are definetly beatable at Ewood park. Obviously we have to look out for Jordan Rhodes as their potiential match winner but he rarely plays well against Morrison and if we can keep him quite then I am confident of a result. I was thinking of keeping the same team that beat Blackpool but sorry even though he scored I am not convinced by Wagstaff and would prefer Wright-Phillips supporting Kermorgant up top. If Dervite is back from susupension I'd bring him back in for Taylor.

    <cheers> Belv :)

You have dropped Taylor after his fine performance against Blackpool? No CB on the bench yet three wingers?

Can't see Suli on the bench rather than Button

I hope that the match goes ahead. Blackburn have surely got undersoil heating so the only factor to worry about is public safety.
I'll be surprised if Taylor is dropped, and it remans to be seen whether The Doctor goes 4-4-2, or whether he keeps Waggy.

    I'd go for:
    Hamer
    Solly Taylor Morro Evina
    Wilson Pritch Stephens Jackson Wagstaff
    Kermit the frog

    subs:
    button
    wiggins
    dervite
    green
    fuller
    harriot
    bwp

I'm looking at the squad and thinking we are woefully short in the middle of the park...

The game is officially on right now apparently.

I don't think it would be fair to drop Waggy or Taylor after last week.

Its going to be a very tough game either way, a point would be a welcome result to me.

I fancy us for this one.

    2-1 to The Addicks.

Apparently we are to be graced by the presence of the 'Venky's matriarch' at the game today.

An honour indeed...I hope our players are not overawed. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Here's hoping that all Addicks travelling to the game have a safe and productive journey.

Also, if that Judge story is true, it's a tad surprising to see Green and BWP on the bench

From the BBC Live feed -

Nick in Blackburn on text via 81111: "Travelled to Leicester to watch the match last night with my mate to be snowed in and unable to watch the match, we've somehow made it to Blackburn today to watch the mighty Addicks get 3 big away points!"
