Couldn't agree more. I'd give him a full 6 games no matter how he does in the first 5 of those. It's no good giving him an hour, nothing happening then taking him off. He's never going to produce until he's given time with the first team.

Agree. Two in his last two starts, what else does he need to do.

I think he will start up front today along side Koren. I just hope he doesnt start coming too deep again, with essentially 6 midfielders on the pitch, he shouldnt need to link up play.

I actually think him and DJ could be great together, cos a you say Der Bomber's instinct is to come deep (no jokes Erik) and link a la Sheringham and indeed Koren and Aluko.

Felt a bit sorry for him earlier in the season, Had a blinder when he came on against Ipswich and scored 2, fair enough he got a start away to M'boro in artic conditions in the north east didnt have the best of games at all, but dont think he deserved dropping then limited to the last ten minutes here and there, thought Brucie should of persevered maybe had a slight word and gave him a run of 5 or so games.

Yeah, it would be nice for SB to tell him he will be playing the next "X" games whatever.

I think he may come deeper than we would like, because he feels like he needs to prove himself, and doesn't want to be making runs for 60mins before being brought off for not getting involved enough.

He scored a couple vs Ipswich, got his chance vs Boro, and one ineffective game (against good opponents) sends him back to the bench for a month or so. He needs a bit of confidence.

I remember when I played as a striker I would come deep to get the ball. Then they started playing them long and I realised they were trying to avoid me!

Agree totally. He needs a good run of games under his belt to show us what he can do. With Simmo badly off form right now he has a chance to cement his place in the team.

Cant help thinking that he would be integral part of our game next season if we where to get promotion. At the moment we are enjoying long periods of posession where as in the premier league their would be a increased need for a good striker who is capable of holding the ball up as we wont enjoy the amount of possession we currently are. I despise the man but thinking along the lines of marlon king in our first season.

I think we'll see Proschwitz start today, Bruce alluded to that & has said he's needed time to adapt from the German game style.

We'd all like to see him get a run of games and hopefully start looking the part. Steve Bruce has to look at the bigger picture though, and after that Middlesbrough game probably thought we are not in a position where we can carry a player until he plays himself into form, especially when we had two other strikers who were doing ok at the time. Now is different though, with Aluko injured and Simmo not hitting the target, and it could be his big chance. I can't believe Brucey would guarantee him a starting place for the next 6 or so games though, no player should get assurances like that imo.
