Those people hankering after the old Saints are proably also hankering after Peacocks, Blockbusters, Woolworths, HMV etc.

In this world you are either moving forward or you are going backwards. There is no standing still.

After the Coventry game Nigel spoke as if he was leaving then...denied it later and said he was emotional. Cortese sets targets and I suspect he had already had the conversation about his new reset targets for this season and knew what a tough job he had.

we are having a good run yes but a small bad run and we are back in the bottom 3.Cortese knows time is running out to climb away from the bottom 3 and perhaps the players were getting too chummy with adkins. You need proffesional distance i think.Maybe the chairman may have seen this as a problem

Just shown shots of Poch taking training this morning...hands on already. Apparently Nicola was there at 8.45 to introduce the players to their new manager.

I guess time will tell if Pochettino is a good Premier League manager, whether he is a good guy or not, I don't know - nor will it probably matter. You say the best thing to do is get behind your side, as there is clearly no turning back, however I hesitate to use the word our club any more rather like 'their' club. Clearly, as an individual fan we have little influence over a clubs running, but if you don't feel connected to the team, simply alienated and disregarded then you might not see the point in doing so.

If Adkins had been offered the Liverpool job would you think he would still would have stayed at saints ? I think not, footballers and managers are mercenarys which they have to be in today's game ,Adkins has gone time to move on and I for one support Southampton FC not Adkins FC

Dont think we have beaten any of the top half of the league teams which suggest we are not up to it tactically

Not wanting to listen to Le Tiss today...he is hardly an unbiased observer. Be a chance for him to vent bile. Shame to feel like that when he is such a legend of ours.

I can talk from experience! He's right. And its ridiculous to suggest that Cortese would ever do that. Even more ridiculous to suggest that there is something we can do to to get him back!

But most businesses cater for the 'customer'; you buy from Amazon - you disagree with their tax dodging so you stop buying from them. The problem in football is that as a 'customer' you are not catered for as the main flow of income comes from other sources.

We will never know; when Adkins left Scunthorpe he insisted that we pay his former club compensation.

I think most managers take a while to cut it in the top division, in such an uneven playing field. Everton have taken years under Moyes to strengthen and improve; I can think of few teams who have shot straight to the top.

Merson's comments are embarressing for a football pundit to wish relegation on a team based on one decision.

I would be interested to know what Adkins stats were whilst in charge of saints? He was there from 2010 to yesterday....how many games did he manage for you in that time? How many did you win from the total?

Your new guy won 30% of his games for espanyol......... but got them relegated!

Probably because he feels no long connected to the club; it has changed a great deal since he left.

Amazing how he can say those things, completely senseless suggesting us as fans deserve relegation, we loved Nigel and didn't want this.

I don't think we will be hearing anything from Nigel or Cortese in the near future further to what was put out yesterday. Nothing was said when Pardew was sacked. Besides I don't really think it matters to him what the fans think, other than from a customer point of view. It really is a business to him thats it. The only people that matter are the other board members which I am sure know the full reasons behind the change and probably agreed it.

Our club is no longer our club, it is a business in which Cortese wants to succeed at all costs. I guess thats the price we pay for being saved. A big part of what SFC was died when Cortese walked through the door but if it ultimately brings us sustained success at the highest level, as Saints fans I guess thats all we really want.
