Player revolt suggested by some papers, but I don't believe it. They will be even more upset than us as they were so close to Adkins, but footballers are pragmatic creatures as they live quite a gypsy life. Managers come and go. I reckon they will be sad and nervous this morning, but also excited to see the new man (just filmed arriving at the ground). This is basically what Clyne tweeted yesterday. They want the new man to succeed so will do everything they can for him...and they will also want to impress him, especially those who are marginalized. MP met up with 3 senior players yesterday (Lallana, SKD, Fonte) and will introduce himself to the rest today.

The media have been pushing this sack story for NA for most of this season, now they are not happy as this has happened so they have to create another story to sell their poor excuses for newspapers. They (the media) create these stories to sell more copies, then have to create even more lies to continue the story until that becomes true and the circle of football continues.
When reporting about this new guy coming in most journalists only printed negative stories about his time as a manager and not the full story of his time at his previous club and the full reason for his being a sought after and potentially good replacement.

Agree the players are professionals. Some may have liked Nigel others not.

Utter nonesense. Football players are not stupid. They know that if they "revolt" then their time at the club will be short lived. They will also gain a bad reputation that might prevent them from attracting interest elsewhere. If anything i can see the majority of players excited this morning. They will miss Nigel but i am sure they will work just as hard for the new guy.

Wouldn't want to be the other side of the fence to Cortese in a revolt!

I don't think they'll revolt, but I'm sure they're just as utterly bemused, dissapointed and maybe even angry like we are

However, being professionals, they have no choice to impress Pinochio

It just means everyone has to prove themselves again, it can't possibly be a bad thing in that regard. He may get on better with some players than Adkins and may get on worse with others I'm actually pretty excited to see southampton under him.

Although BP with a little more research you would have found that Portuguese Jose Fonte was one of the three and I think there would be no language barrier there at all. Clever move in my eyes.

Best not to worry about the papers, they all know they need to outspin each other to get theirs sold. The players may be disappointed but I'm sure they will work hard for the new staff.

Ok so fonte can relate with him.........what about the remainder of the squad. What about the remainder of the staff. There have been plenty of managers who don't speak the lingo to well that have not succeeded in Football....................

Well, if Fonte was speaking Portugese then there may have been a small barrier as Portugese is significantly different to Spanish.

I would think Ramirez speaks Spanish, coming from South America.

Apparently he doesn't. I believe he spends quite a lot of time with Gazza who translates for him.

That's amazing, considering he only met SKD, Fonte & Lallana yesterday.

Firstly there will be no player revolt. they will all be paid a wage dependant on what league we are in. to revolt would hurt them too much as if they purposely performed badly we would without doubt go down meaning a drop in wages! on a positive note for Nigel, I truly hope he has had a whopping pay off? he gave his heart and soul in to the club and deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. Nigel will have no problems finding a new club, that is a dead cert. Nigel will be loved by the fans wherever he goes. I just wish for him now that he goes to a club where he is appreciated by the chairman. Cortese in his mind is running a business. for anybody who runs a business or has a job in authority, sentiment generally is not part of the criteria when wanting to be successful. I certainly don' t agree with what's gone on but I do wish Nigel the best for the future!
